Shameless plug inserted in quiz for FunTrivia! Of course, you were already here, so I doubt Terry will be sending me any commission!
4. Which clothing fashion of the 60's gets a mention in the song?

Answer: Miniskirt

"The mini skirt's the current thing, uh huh"

Hooray for miniskirts! Bring 'em back, it's been too long!
5. How does the grocery store get described?

Answer: The Super Mart

"The grocery store's the super mart, uh huh"

In the good old (?) days, if one wanted to go to the grocery store, or maybe even the smaller corner store, you did so on a Monday to Friday, during daylight hours. There was none of this carry-on of being able to buy groceries at the service station, and you certainly didn't even think about buying anything after hours! If you had no food, you had two choices: borrow some from family or neighbour, or go hungry till the day after!

These days, we have mega-sized supermarkets that supply our every want (ironically, we don't want a great percentage of it) - and at most hours of every day.
6. What do the men "keep on" doing?

Answer: Going to war

"And men still keep on marching off to war"

Presumably, this was an unstated reference to the Vietnam War which was raging at the time of the song's release.
7. Which popular sport is described in the song?

Answer: Baseball

"Electrically they keep a baseball score"

As a single, "The Beat Goes On" go to number 6 on the U.S. charts, in January 1967.
8. What is it that "Grandmas" are doing when they "sit in chairs"?

Answer: Reminisce

"Grandmas sit in chairs and reminisce"

Well, it may not be all beer and skittles. It's quite possible that Grandma's reminiscing took the form of complaining!
9. "Boys keep chasing girls to get" something. What is this something?

Answer: A kiss

"Boys keep chasing girls to get a kiss"

Sonny Bono hasn't chased anyone for a kiss since January 1998. He died after hitting a tree whilst skiing near Lake Tahoe in California. His headstone reads "And the beat goes on".
10. How much money do the "Bums" ask for?

Answer: 10 cents

"Bums still cry "hey buddy, have you got a dime"

The asking rate has gone up in the years since! You would need a lot of dimes to buy a cup of coffee now. $3.14, perhaps? To buy a piece of Pi...
