Answer: Queensland - 29 August 2001 - Helicopter Crash

Shirley was the lead singer of Skyhooks, who hit the big time in the 1970s. Shirley was a man of many talents; he became a television personality firstly with a kid's show, "Shirl's Neighbourhood" and later as a chippy on "Better Homes and Gardens".
2. Where, when and how did Darryl Cotton die?

Answer: Melbourne - 27 June 2012 - Liver Cancer

Darryl Cotton was the lead singer of Zoot in the 60s and 70s. After the band split Darryl moved into acting. Darryl was involved with two TV shows, "Summer Rock" and the "Early Bird Show".

In the 1990s Darryl returned to the music industry and formed Burns, Cotton & Morris (all 1960s popstars) and when Burns retired they became Cotton, Keays & Morris.

Billy Thorpe was an icon of the Australian music scene - part of Sunbury Pop Festival and involved in the scene right up to his death. Billy's signature song was "Most People I Know Think I'm Crazy".

Answer: Sydney - 6 October 1978 - Heart Attack, overdose of prescription drugs

Known as either "J.O.K." or "the wild one" starting his career in the 1950s.

Johnny was a pioneer in the industry being the first to top the charts and still the most successful Aussie hitmaker. Johnny was also the first Aussie to tour America.

Younger brother of the Bee Gees who was a star in his own right having a short but amazing career.

Andy died of myocarditis that had been made worse by years of cocaine and alcohol abuse.

Steve, being the lead singer of the New Zealand band Mi-Sex, came to Australia in the late 1970s. Mi-Sex won many awards and was known as one of the best pub bands. When Mi-Sex split up in the mid 1980s Steve played with a variety of other bands but none reached Mi-Sex's popularity.
