Alan O'Day scored a number one hit with "Undercover Angel", a song that he also wrote. He is better known as a songwriter, having written songs that have been recorded by Cher, Helen Reddy, Three Dog Night and The Fifth Dimension. More recently, he has also written songs for "The Muppet Babies", and "National Geographic" specials.

Mary MacGregor was discovered by Peter Yarrow (of Peter, Paul and Mary fame), who was highly impressed with her two octave range. She started singing back-up for him, while he groomed her for success. Her only real hit was with the song "Torn Between Two Lovers", which was her first solo performance, and a song that she didn't particularly like.

Rita Coolidge started her singing career in the church where her father was a minister. She sang back-up for the likes of Delaney and Bonnie and Joe Cocker before scoring a number two hit with this song, also known as "Higher and Higher", which was written by Gary L. Jackson, Carl Smith and Raynard Miller.

Hot was an all girl 70s band, and that "Angel in Your Arms" was their best known song. They were based in L.A. (California). The song was written by writing duo Ivey and Woodfield and co-written by Brasfield.
In 1980 the three girls made a movie, known by a variety of names including "Runnin' Hot", about a female group. It wasn't much of a success either.

Also known as "Love Theme From a Star is Born", "Evergreen" was written by Barbra Streisand, with lyrics by Paul Williams. It was also performed by Streisand, who starred in the movie with Kris Kristofferson, and brought home the Oscar for Best Music - Best Original Score.

Rod Stewart's "Tonight's the Night" was number one on the charts for an amazing seven weeks. This feat was even more impressive because of the fact that many radio stations originally refused to play the song, because of its blatant sexual content. However pressure from listeners soon had most of those stations caving in and giving the song air time.
