Answer: Neville Brothers

The four Neville Brothers grouped together in New Orleans in 1977, although they had been working individually for some time before that. Aaron is the most accomplished of the group, scoring way back in 1966 with "Tell It Like It Is" which was a number two charting hit on Billboard's Hot 100 as well as reaching the top spot on the R & B charts.

Many years later, 1989 to be exact, he went back to the number two position on the charts with "Don't Know Much" in which he performed a duet with Linda Ronstadt.

The brothers have, since 1977, produced a dozen albums, starting with their debut album called "The Neville Brothers" in 1978, to their most notable which was called "Yellow Moon", in 1989. A track from that album, an instrumental called "Healing Chant" won a Grammy for Best Pop Instrumental Performance that year.

Answer: Isley Brothers

The Isley Brothers first formed way back in 1957 and were originally made up of Rudolph, Ronald and O'Kelly Jr. and the group had some modest success in the early 1960s. "Shout" actually put the group on the musical map along with "Twist and Shout" and then the 1966 hit single "This Old Heart of Mine".

In 1969 they had their biggest hit called "It's Your Thing" which was more of a funk and soul type recording. Younger brothers Ernie and Marvin joined the group in the early 1970s along with brother in-law Chris Jasper. According to "Billboard Magazine" the group is the one of the few that have been able to chart a single in six straight decades.

Answer: Chambers Brothers

"Time Has Come Today" was released by The Chambers Brothers in 1968 and spent five weeks at number 11 on the Billboard Top 100 charts. Lester, Joe, Willie and George Chambers started in the gospel circuit in the southern U.S. in the early 1960s. They gradually entered the folk-rock community. Eventually they were signed by Columbia Records and produced their signature hit in 1968.

The song was said to be ahead of its time in the way special effects were used in the recording. The sounds and effects were used to replicate the sounds of war (the Vietnam War at the time).

The song was performed by the group at the original Woodstock Festival in 1969.

Isaac Donald Everly, and Philip Everly were both born in the late 1930s and first hit the charts with "Bye Bye Love" in 1957. They had numerous other hits in the late 1950s and early 1960s such as "Cathy's Clown", "Wake Up Little Susie" and "All I Have to Do Is Dream" among others. To illustrate their immense worldwide popularity, consider the following: they had 25 Top 40 hits on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 charts between 1957 and 1962.

They also were able to put 25 hits on the Canadian To 40 charts between 1957 and 1964, and an amazing 34 Top 40 hits on the U.K. charts between 1957 and 1968.

Answer: The Osmond Brothers

Allan, Wayne, Merrill, Jay and later Donny, and Jimmy made up the early incarnations of The Osmond Brothers, who were practicing Mormons from Ogden, Utah. Later on they changed their professional names to the Osmonds, especially after Marie joined the group.

They had been performing since the late 1950, and were spotted by Andy Williams' father while performing at Disneyland. The younger Williams had an American variety television show at the time and eventually booked the Osmonds to appear on his show.

The response was so positive that they became regulars on the show during most of the 1960s. In the late 1960s they decided that they wanted to become a rock and roll band, so they eventually got a recording contract, and became The Osmonds, recording such hits as "One Bad Apple", "Yo-Yo" and "Down By The Lazy River". Eventually Donny and Marie Osmond launched successful solo careers with Donny doing such songs as covers of "Go Away Little Girl" and "Puppy Love" as well as the hit single "Sweet and Innocent". Marie hit on her own with a cover of "Paper Roses" and they also ended up with their own television show as well.

With names like The Escorts, The Allman Joys and The Hour Glass, Duane and Gregg Allman found little success when they stated out during the late 1960s in their native Florida. Eventually they hooked up with Dickie Betts, Berry Oakley and Butch Trucks and The Allman Brothers Band was formed.

They were very successfully received and became a cult favorite after their debut album of the same name was released. They became so popular that they made a number of appearances at New York's famous Fillmore East. All this culminated with a number two Billboard charting hit in 1973 called "Ramblin' Man".

The group is also listed by Rolling Stone Magazine on their compilation of "The Greatest Artists of All Time" at number 52.

Bill, Brett and Mark Hudson first called themselves The New Yorkers when they formed in 1967. The released a number of singles in the late 1960s with little or no success. The changed their name to Everyday Hudson but that didn't help. 1970 saw them change their names again, simply calling themselves Hudson. Finally, after contracting with Elton John's Rocket Records, they released a 1974 song as The Hudson Brothers called "So You Are a Star" which climbed the Billboard Hot 100 charts and reached number 21 followed in 1975 by "Rendezvous" which reached number 26 on the charts.

These were their two biggest hits, and although they were being produced by Bernie Taupin, they could not achieve any greater success. They also had a short lived variety television show in the U.S. Bill did have some success in another area, marrying Goldie Hawn.

The had two children during their six year marriage, a son named Oliver and a daughter whom you might know named Kate Hudson.

Answer: The Brothers Johnson

The three Johnson Brothers formed the group along with cousin Alex Weir in the mid 1970s. Originally called Johnson Three Plus One, the group attended school together in Los Angeles. They occasionally were a backup band for The Supremes when they went on tour, as well as Bobby Womack, and had some association with Billy Preston as well.

They eventually met up with Quincy Jones and he hired them to tour Japan. He also produced their album called "Look Out For Number 1" which became a top selling album.

The album produced the Billboard U.S. Top five single called "I'll Be Good To You". Their next album called "Right On Time" produced their another major Hot 100 hit called "Strawberry Letter #23". They also had a Billboard number seven hit in 1980 called "Stomp".

Although the band continued to have R&B success, there were no more major Hot 100 hits that followed and the group split up in 1982.

Answer: The Bellamy Brothers

From Darby, Florida, David and Homer (Howard) Bellamy started performing in the 1968 as a band called Jericho. They came to the attention of Jim Stafford. who eventually recording David's composition of "Spiders and Snakes". The Bellamys eventually relocated to California, and in 1975 signed a recording contract which produced "Let Your Love Flow" as a major hit for the brothers in 1976, reaching number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 charts and number seven in the U.K.

Their next major success came with a song with the novel title of "If I Said You Had a Beautiful Body Would You Hold It Against Me" which became their only other Top 40 U.S. single on the Hot 100 charts, but made number one on the Country charts and number three in the U.K. Since then and through the mid 1990s the Bellamys have had numerous number one and top ten hits on the Country singles charts and also remained very popular in Canada.

Barry, Robin and Maurice came to us from the U.K, although they were born on the Isle of Man. Their first incarnation was that of a soft rock group during the 1960s with songs like "Massachusetts", New York Mining Disaster 1941", "To Love Somebody" and "Words" to name some. During the early 1970s the group stagnated a bit, but came back with a vengeance in the late 1978 and actually recreated themselves, taking advantage of the disco sound that was popular at the time.

They came back with hits like "Jive Talking" and "Nights on Broadway", and then hit a home run with their numerous hits from the movie "Saturday Night Fever" (1978). Songs like "Stayin' Alive", "Night Fever" "How Deep Is Your Love" and "More Than A Woman" all became smash hits and the Bee Gees had come full circle to become one of the hottest acts in the pop music business for the second time.
