Carlos Augusto Alves Santana born Jul 20, 1947 (aka Devadip Carlos Santana) in Autlan De Navarro, Mexico. His family later moved to Tijuana, where he began playing in clubs and bars. In the early 60's his family moved to San Francisco but he remained in Tijuana until 1963 when he joined his family in San Francisco.
