Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which drummer played for Black Sabbath?

Answer: All of them

Each and every one, but Bev left after only one record. He then toured briefly, and quit soon after.
2. Drummer Bev Bevan played for which band before he recorded one album with Black Sabbath?

Answer: Electric Light Orchestra

Believe it or not, Bev Bevan was invited to play on the Black Sabbath record titled "Born Again". Oddly enough, the vocals were done by none other than Ian Gillan from Deep Purple.
3. What drummer was nicknamed "Bonzo" before he passed away due to alcoholism?

Answer: John Bonham

Of course, who can forget the classic drum solo on the track "Moby Dick" by Led Zeppelin. John's son Jason has been quite a successful drummer as well. After all, he did learn from one of the finest sticksmen in rock history.
4. Which Rush record did not feature Neil Peart?

Answer: Rush

Rush only recorded one record without Neil. It is titled "Rush", and features a drummer named John Rutsey . As well as playing the drums, Neil Peart has also written a majority of Rush's lyrics.
5. Which drummer did not play with Megadeth?

Answer: Vinnie Paul

Vinnie Paul played for the band Pantera (as of March 2004).
6. On the Kiss record "Kiss Alive", who plays the thundering drum solo in the song "100,000 Years"?

Answer: Peter Criss

One of the most influential drum solos for me. That solo made me want to play. If you've never heard it, I highly recommend it.
7. In his drum instructional video, who called the "full" crash cymbal, a "fool" crash cymbal?

Answer: Nicko McBrain

Nicko McBrain put out a drum instructional video called "Rhythms of the Beast". He quoted "I call this the "fool" crash cymbal, because any fool can hit it." A little dry humour from Nicko.
8. Lars Ulrich of Metallica plays drums on every record they've made, as of 2004.

Answer: True

He does an excellent job each and every time.
9. Has Nicko McBrain of Iron Maiden ever recorded a drum solo on any of their records?

Answer: No

I'm sure if he did it would be a dandy one.
10. On Judas Priest's album "Painkiller", which drummer was credited for his outstanding work?

Answer: Scott Travis

Another excellent record by Priest. Scott can sure play those double-kick drums to the extreme.
