1. 'Dark Side of the Moon' and 'The Wall' should lead you to this British band; who are they?

Answer: Pink Floyd

Of course it was 'Pink Floyd'. Formed in 1965, the band released one of the most famous albums in the world,'Dark Side of the Moon', in 1973. This album topped the Billboard 200 charts only for one week but remained in the chart for an incredible 741 (yes 741!) weeks, or over 14 years until 1988, only dropping off of the listings when the rules for entries were changed to exclude albums more than ten years old.
2. Mick Hucknall is the leader of this band who have been around since 1985. They have had hits with 'Holding Back the Years', 'If You Don't Know Me By Now' and 'Fairground'. Maybe they were named after Mick's hair; who are they?

Answer: Simply Red

And yes they were named after Mick's hair. Allegedly they were originally called 'Red' until a mix up with a promoter who was told by Mick 'We're Red simply (just) Red' the posters appeared with the name 'Simply Red' and the name stuck.

Of course not! Joe Brown is/was a British singer from the 1960s- James Brown is known as the 'GODFATHER of Soul' with hits such as...'It's a Man's Man's Man's World' (usually known as 'This is a Man's World') and 'Papa's got a Brand New Bag'.

'Black Night' peaked at number two in 1970 in the UK.
'Smoke on the Water' famously relates the true story about the burning down of the Montreux Casino whilst the band were waiting to record an album close by.
