Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. McCartney's northern refuge, which he made a song about.

Answer: Mull of Kintyre

Paul McCartney was probably the most successful member of the ex-Beatles after the break-up.
2. What time and when will Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band play live?

Answer: Nine Tonight

Nearly all the big ones on this album. Brilliant double album, worth every penny. Went to see him when he was in Germany. Very disappointed he didn't do "Night Moves". However, an otherwise great performance made up for that.
3. Sounds like she was Little Richard's very lengthy Rock 'n' Roll lady.

Answer: Long Tall Sally

Little Richard classic that was also covered by the Beatles. There's no way of saying which is the better one. From a quality point of view there's no difference.
4. Spring, Summer, Autumn (Fall), Winter

Answer: The Four Seasons

A band with excellent harmonies.
5. Bono tape got mixed up while writing affectionate messages on the beach.

Answer: Pat Boone

Bono Tape = anagram of Pat Boone(Love Letters in the Sand). Mr. All-American Squeaky-Clean, which, as came to light later, he wasn't. So what? He liked to have fun, too.
6. Two times five and then observe twice that there's a riot.

Answer: 10cc

Ten "see see" and the famous "Rubber Bullets". A fine band, who probably did not get the recognition they deserved.
7. Bad Sam Ryan said it slices like a severing instrument.

Answer: Bryan Adams

Thank the Lord Harry for Bryan Adams and "Cuts Like A Knife". Just when the music was dying, he came up with no-frills Rock and woke a lot of people up. Good music, good lyrics. Hope he's around for a while longer.
8. This band is short in accreditation.

Answer: CCR

(a-CCR-editation) Another one of these rare phenomena, whose songs will still be played in 50 years. Raw and gripping Rock. Great.
9. He's homeward bound to Elvis' place.

Answer: Paul Simon

"Homeward Bound", one of the greatest hits of Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel, although, how can you define "greatest" among all the brilliant stuff those two put out? After going solo, Paul Simon did "Graceland" (hence, Elvis' Place), which was an exceptionally fine album.
10. "Gee, Pugsy, what did he sing before the plane crashed?"

Answer: Peggy Sue

"Gee Pugsy" is an anagram of Peggy Sue. Buddy Holly was an inspiration to many of the great musicians who followed, just as much as Chuck Berry was. There's the Beatles, for one, who covered Holly's "Words Of Love" on the "Beatles For Sale" album. And a fine job they did. Buddy would have been proud.
11. He'll make it, if his buddies assist him and, if not, he can bear a small amount of watery downfall.

Answer: Joe Cocker

Cocker's breakthrough came with the very individual version of the Beatles' "With A Little Help From My Friends". One of his albums is "I Can Stand A Little Rain".
12. How mixed up is my generation?

Answer: The Who

"My Generation" was the absolute breakthrough for The Who. I highly recommend the book "Dear Boy: The Life of Keith Moon" by Tony Fletcher. Well researched, gripping and it gives a good insight into the life and times of the Who.
13. Dot cows ok at the festival.

Answer: Woodstock

Must go down as one of the greatest events ever. I found it silly to attempt to repeat it after so many years. I was proved right. You just can't recreate that kind of spirit and music on demand.
14. This dance is performed mostly at a hard, gruesome, cinematic event.

Answer: The Time Warp

To think that "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" was a movie nobody wanted to finance. The Brits thought it wouldn't go anywhere and the Americans were too prude (except for Lou Adler) and look where it is now. CULT!
15. Bandy lob stuck in Mobile.

Answer: Bob Dylan

Bandy lob = anagram of Bob Dylan, Stuck in Mobile With the Memphis Blues Again. Dylan... nothing left to say that hasn't been said.
