1. "Speak & Spell" (1981) : "We walk together we're walking down the street."

Answer: Just Can't Get Enough

Third and last single from their debut album. Possibly their best known song to date. One of the few songs Martin Gore didn't write.
2. "A Broken Frame" (1982) : "We've been running round in circles all year, Doing this and that and getting nowhere."

Answer: Leave In Silence

Also third and last single, but from their second album. It was the first album entirely written by Martin Gore.
3. "Construction Time Again" (1983): "The grabbing hands grab all they can. All for themselves - after all. It's a competitive world."

Answer: Everything Counts

By far the best track on the album. "Everything Counts" was the first single from the album. Only one other single was released after it: "Love In Itself".
4. "Some Great Reward" (1984) : "I don't want to be tied to anyone's srings. I'm carefully trying to steer clear of those things."

Answer: Somebody

"Somebody" was not released as a single from "Some Great Reward" , but it's the best song on the ablum by far. The other three songs were the 3 singles released from the album.
5. "Catching Up With Depeche Mode" (1985, aka The Singles 81-85) : " Here is a plea, From my heart to you. Nobody knows me as well as you do."

Answer: Shake The Disease

The first compilation album. It featured two new songs and all their previous released singles. "Shake The Disease" was one of new songs and was released as a single to go with the album. It's one of my favourite songs.
6. "Black Celebration" (1986) : "I want to take you in my arms... Forgetting all I couldn't do today."

Answer: Black Celebration

My favourite DM Album. "Black Celebration" is also my favourite song by DM. Although the song has the same name as the album, it was never released as a single. It's still a live favourite though, and they still play it during concerts.
7. "Music For The Masses" (1987) : "We're flying high we're watching the world pass us by... Never want to come down, never want to put my feet back down on the ground."

Answer: Never Let Me Down Again

Another live favourite and still being played live by the band. Second single from the album, behind "Strangelove".
8. "101" (1989) : "But I think that God's got a sick sense of humour and when I die, I expect to find him laughing."

Answer: Blasphemous Rumours

The First Official Live release of the band. Captivating their massive performance in front of almost 70.000 people at the Pasadena Rose Bowl. "Everything Counts Live" was re-released as a single to support the album, it was also the very last song of the show.
9. "Violator" (1990) : "All I ever wanted, All I ever needed... Is here in my arms... Words are very unnecessary, they can only do harm."

Answer: Enjoy The Silence

The most succesfull studio album released to date. both "Personal Jesus" and "Enjoy The Silence" sold big and became instant classics, and are still the first songs to make the setlist when a tour is made.
10. "Songs Of Faith And Devotion" (1993) : "Oh Girl. Lead me into your darkness. When this world is trying it's hardest to leave me unimpressed..."

Answer: One Caress

One of the finest writing performances by Martin. This song is also sung by Martin instead of Dave.
11. "Songs Of Faith And Devotion Live" (1993) : "Now I'm not looking for absolution, forgiveness for the things I do. But before you come to any conclusions..."

Answer: Walking In My Shoes

Live songs from the devotional tours were put on the live version of the album "Songs Of Faith And Devotion".
12. "Ultra" (1997) : "What am I supposed to do. When everything that I've done is leading me to conclude : I'm not the one."

Answer: Barrel Of A Gun

In 1997 "Ultra" Finally came after most people had written Depeche Mode off. Despite all the bands problems "Ultra" prooved to be a very good album with solid songs.
13. "The Singles 86>98" (1998) : "Something beautiful is happening inside for me. Something sensual, it's full of fire and mystery. I feel hypnotized, I feel paralized... I have found heaven."

Answer: Only When I Lose Myself

The second compilation album containing all the singles released between 1986 and 1998 and some extra songs , including one new : "Only When I Lose Myself".

Answer: Dream On

The first Depeche Mode Album in the new Millennium. Sprung the singles "Dream On" and "I Feel Loved" who receaved a lot of airplay. Can you feel a little love ? Dream on... Dream on...

Dave liked making his own album so much, many fans feared this was the end of Depeche Mode, luckily rumours are that Martin is working on a new Depeche Mode album that will come out either late 2004 or 2005. Let's hope so ! Thanks for playing !
