Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What song do the lyrics "And I have no religion, and I don't know what's what" come from?

Answer: Zooropa

This song was off of their album "Zooropa". Some say this album was an experiment for U2. It was well known for the songs "Lemon" and "Numb".
2. What song do the lyrics "One man caught on a barbwired fence" come from?

Answer: Pride ( In The Name Of Love )

This song was a huge hit off their album "The Unforgettable Fire" which was released in 1984. This particular song is a tribute to Martin Luther King.
3. What song do the lyrics "Broken bottles under children's feet" come from?

Answer: Sunday Bloody Sunday

This song was off of their third album "War". It was released in 1983. This song was written about the "Bloody Sunday" that has happened on three occasions during the last two centuries. The first was Nov. 1887 in London, the second was Jan. 1905 in Russia and the third took place Jan. 30th, 1972 in Derry, North Ireland. 13 deaths and 14 injuries occured when a British military opened fire on a Civil Rights march.
4. What song do the lyrics "I'm like a preacher, stealing hearts at a traveling show" come from?

Answer: Desire

This song is off of their album "Rattle and Hum". This album is one of my favorites. "Desire" is also one of my favorite songs done by U2. I love all the lyrics in this song. Actually, "Desire" gave U2 their first UK single.
5. What song do the lyrics "I can't sing but I've got soul" come from?

Answer: Elevation

This song was off of their album "All That You Can't Leave Behind" which was released in 2000. The movie "Tomb Raider" may remind you of this song.
6. What song do the lyrics "It's no secret ambition bites the nails of success" come from?

Answer: The Fly

This song is off of their album "Achtung Baby". If I recall, critics stated that this album was the sound of crashing guitars, only because of their previous album "The Joshua Tree", which was their best selling album. I don't care what the critics say, I love this album.
7. What song do the lyrics "You say you'll give me eyes on a moon of blindness" come from?

Answer: All I Want Is You

This song is also from "Rattle and Hum". It is one of few, slow love songs that U2 has done. "With or Without You" is another.
8. What song do the lyrics "I was a sailor, I was lost at sea" come from?

Answer: When Love Comes To Town

This song was performed with B.B. King. It's a great tune!
9. What song do the lyrics "Jacob wrestled the angel and the angel was overcome" come from?

Answer: Bullet The Blue Sky

This is also one of my favorirte songs by U2. It is off of their album "The Joshua Tree", their best selling record. This song was musically supposed to represent the bombings of El Salvardorian towns during it's civil war by US planes. Edge's guitar solo is supposed to be the keen of the bombs being dropped and the rage of war machines.

This song is more about how war destroys people.
10. What song do the lyrics "I will be with you again" come from?

Answer: New Year's Day

This song is from the album "War".
11. What song do the lyrics "Who's gonna drown in your blue sea?" come from?

Answer: Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses?

This was a big hit off the album "Achtung Baby". That album was released in 1991.
12. What song do the lyrics "I have spoke with the tongue of angels" come from?

Answer: I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For

This was a huge hit and maybe their biggest from their album "The Joshua Tree". It's hard to say which one was the biggest because there are so many.
13. What song do the lyrics "Blue light on the avenue, God knows they got to you" come from?

Answer: Angel Of Harlem

This is another song from "Rattle and Hum". You can probably tell now that I love that album.
14. What song do the lyrics "Do you, Don't you want me to love you?" come from?

Answer: Helter Skelter

This song is from "Rattle and Hum" also. This song was originally composed by Paul McCartney when he was a member of The Beatles. There is a long history with this song. When the Beatles wrote it, Charles Manson tried to claim it as his and stole it out of anger because he wasn't part of the band.

There was a lot of feuding because of it. So when U2 redid the song, you hear at the beginning Bono saying "This is a song Charles Manson stole from the Beatles, we're stealing it back". On a brighter note, it's an amazing song.
15. What song do the lyrics "You're in the mud, in the maze of her imagination" come from?

Answer: Beautiful Day

This is a song from the album "All That You Can't Leave Behind".
Thank you for playing this quiz. I hope you enjoyed it! It's good to know there are people out there to share my interest in U2.
