Answer: First Glastonbury Festival

The first Festival was held on the day after Jimi Hendrix died;
Marc Bolan was on the bill. The attendance was only 1,500 and the entrance fee was £1 which included free milk from the farm.
2. What happened on July 25th 1965?

Answer: Bob Dylan was booed at the Newport Folk Festival

Legend has it that Dylan was booed throughout his performance at the Newport Folk Festival. However, it seems that it may have been the compere, Pete Yarrow (from Peter, Paul and Mary) who was booed.
Dylan left the stage as a result of the booing, but was persuaded to return by Joan Baez. He sang two songs -- "It's All Over Now, Baby Blue," and "Mr. Tambourine Man".
3. What happened on July 6th 1957?

Answer: The Quarreyman play at Woollton Parish Fete

4. What happened on August 28, 29 and 30 1970?

Answer: Isle of Wight Festival

This was the 3rd Isle of Wight Festival Arrival, and was the last until it was revived in 2002. The 1970 line up included: Joan Baez,
Chicago, Leonard Cohen, Miles Davis, The Doors, Emerson Lake and Palmer, Everly Brothers, Free, Jimi Hendrix, Jethro Tull, Moody Blues, Joni Mitchell, Sly & The Family Stone and The Who.

Answer: Elvis' last performance on The Ed Sullivan show

This was Presley's third and final appearance on the show, but by this time controversy over Presley's hip and pelvis movements prompted Sullivan to order the show's cameras to only shoot Elvis from the waist up. In spite of that Sullivan thanked Presley after his last number saying, "This is a real decent, fine boy. We've never had a pleasanter experience on our show with a big name than we've had with you.... You're thoroughly all right."
9. What happened on July 13th 1985?

Answer: Live Aid

The event was organised by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure in order to raise funds for famine relief in Ethiopia. The show opened with Status Quo singing "Rocking All Over The World".
10. What happened on July 5th 1969?

Answer: Rolling Stones in Hyde Park

After Brian Jones' minimal contribution to "Beggar's Banquet", he was replaced by Mick Taylor. The planned Hyde Park concert went ahead just after Brian's death. Although Jones' death was recorded as being by misadventure, the cause of the drowning to this day remains a mystery.
Mick Jagger read from Shelley's "Adonais" and released a flock of butterflies by way of tribute to the late guitarist.
