Answer: David Lee Roth

 David Lee Roth's first solo single after leaving Van Halen was a cover of the Beach Boys' "California Girls" in 1985. He went on to have more hits in the 1980's like "Just A Gigolo/I Ain't Got Nobody" and "Just Like Paradise".
He rejoined Van Halen in 2012 to record the album "A Different Kind of Truth".
2. Which singer moonlighted from his band to record 'State Of Shock' with Michael Jackson in 1984?

Answer: Mick Jagger

 Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder and Freddie Mercury all recorded duets with Jackson, but only Sir Mick sang on 'State Of Shock' released on The Jacksons album 'Victory'.
3. Name the former Black Sabbath singer who went on to even greater fame as a solo artist and reality TV star.

Answer: Ozzy Osbourne

 It was of course Ozzy. When he was sacked from Black Sabbath in 1978. Their manager Don Arden gave Ozzy's contract to his daughter Sharon Arden, who not only turned him into a major star, but also married him.

Dio, Gillan and Halford all sang with Black Sabbath at various times after Ozzy's departure, until Ozzy rejoined the band in 2013 for a final album and farewell tour.

Ted is also well-known as an enthusiastic hunter and a long-time member of the board of the National Rifle Association.

 When Peter Gabriel quit Genesis for a successful solo career in 1975, they auditioned hundreds of potential singers but none proved suitable, so their drummer Phil Collins took over instead. When Collins left the band in 1996 they recruited Scottish singer Ray Wilson, but after one poorly-received album the band folded.

 Former music teacher Myles Kennedy was chosen as the vocalist of Alter Bridge who were a spin-off from post-grunge band Creed. He later became the singer in Slash's solo band.

He went on to record his first solo album 'Blaze Of Glory' using songs featured in, or inspired by the film.

 As well as a singing career stretching back to his debut with Montrose in 1973 Sammy has also founded a chain of restaurants (beginning with the Cabo Wabo restaurant/nightclub in Mexico in 1990), a racing bicycle store and a tequila brand which he sold for $80 million in 2007.
