A pleasure to behold.

I was in Ireland at the time and a local club DJ wanted to show off his latest CD of a band from Seattle, Washington and the newfound grunge music. I was immediately captivated by the different sound that was laid out before me. This piece of work has been often cited as one of the most important pieces of work from the 1990's and maybe even of all time. My question is, which song from this album had a short sample from the Youngbloods' "Get Together" as an intro?

Answer: Territorial Pissings

I wish I could put into words the impact that his CD has had on me over the years. I'm glad I grabbed it and gave it a listen. I advise you do the same.

Michael Beinhorn also produced the MTV hit "Rockit" by the jazz pianist Herbie Hancock amongst others.

This album is responsible for the anthem "Fight the Power" along with many others. This track is particularly notable because of a famous musician who lent his talents to it. Name him.

Answer: Branford Marsalis

The thing that sets this album apart from other rap CDs of its era is the dead-on forecasting that the CD provided of future east coast life. The song "911 is a Joke" relates of how incompetent the 911 emergency system has always been in services to the inner city. Several years after the CD was released, the Philadelphia 911 system was brough under fire for the death of a young man beaten death while a 911 operator did nothing to get assistance to him.

This album certainly warrants a quiz all by itself.
9. I realize there has already been a Led Zeppelin question earlier, but this quiz is based on a random sampling, and this just happened to be one of the CDs pulled. "Houses of the Holy" was one of the most complete CDs by Led Zeppelin because of all the musical genres represented. "The Crunge" is a great example of some James Brown influenced funk. What genre of music would you associate "D'yer Mak'er" with?

Answer: Reggae

"D'yer Mak'er" has to be the most mispronounced song titles in the history of radio. I often chuckle at the radio DJ's attempt at the proper pronunciation of this classic. The song is partly responsible for Led Zeppelin breaking the Beatles' record of a one-band concert attendance record in the US. Over 50,000 saw Led Zeppelin perform this tour at both Tampa and Atlanta performances in 1973 and 1974.
10. One of the heaviest CDs in my enormous collection is Pantera's "Cowboys From Hell". What an incredible display of power chords, drum thrashing beats and intense vocals. Where did this hard rocking band emerge from anyway?

Answer: Texas

I knew we had to finish with a simple question. Pantera is still one of the hardest bands out there in regard to their music and their live shows. Phil Anselmo, Diamond "Dimebag" Darrell, Rex and Vinnie Paul remain to this day to be the hardest working men in heavy metal music. Keep up the faith.
