Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "all the wasted years" are lyrics from what song?

Answer: Heresy

This is one of my favorite songs. This line is sung repeatedly during the outro.
2. "you can choose from phantom fears..." are lyrics from what song?

Answer: Freewill

This is off of the "Permanent Waves" album, during the pre-chorus.
3. Who actually founded Rush?

Answer: Alex Lifeson

I read from www.wikipedia.com, that Alex Lifeson was the one who initially started the band, in the summer of 1968. Not surprising:)
4. "...becomes a keen and bloody sword" are lyrics from what song and what album?

Answer: "Armor and Sword" : "Snakes and Arrows"

Even though Alex Lifeson didn't really care for this album as much as any other, I think it is one of their best sounding. I found out about Alex's views on the "Snakes and Arrows" album in an article called "23 Days of Living with Snakes & Arrows", on their fan site www.rusharchives.com.
5. What year was the album "Rush" released?

Answer: 1974

If you look on the back of the album, it will say the release date or the copywrite date of 1974.
6. In Rush's "Snakes and Arrows" tour, the song "Tom Sawyer" has part of a tv show start the song for them. What tv show am I talking about?

Answer: South Park

If you look this up and watch it, it is quite funny. I was at one of the shows and saw this. I've also seen many shows from www.youtube.com as proof that they do this for the "Snakes and Arrows" tour.
7. In the "Rio" and "30th Anniversary" world tour shows, Geddy Lee had put three dryers on stage. What were used in the "Snakes and Arrows" tour?

Answer: Three ovens

During the show, there were three ovens on stage. Every once in a while, a chef would come out and check on the ovens. They were bright orange and they were as tall as Alex's Hughes & Kettner stacks.
8. "...pause at a light" are lyrics off of which song?

Answer: The Camera Eye

This song is the last track on the "Moving Pictures" album. It is one of those unheard songs of Rush, but it's still a good song.
9. In Rush's "Artists of The Decade" interview, how does Neil Peart describe the album "2112"?

Answer: Angry

In the "Artists of The Decade" interview from 1990, as seen on disk 2 of the "R30" dvd, Neil says that all the anger from everybody's reaction to "Caress of Steel" went straight into the "2112" album. Pretty much, Rush liked "Caress of Steel" and not everybody else felt the same way.
10. What is the name of Geddy Lee's solo album, made in 2000?

Answer: My Favorite Headache

Rush decided to take a break, after what happened to Neil. He lost both his wife and daughter in a pretty short time. Geddy and Alex both wrote a solo album. They then reappeared in 2002 to make "Vapor Trails".
