Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "See how they run like pigs _____________."

Answer: from a gun

This is the third line of the song. "I Am the Walrus" was released on the "Magical Mystery Tour" album in 1967.
2. "Mister City __________ sitting pretty little policemen in a row." True or false: The word policeman goes in the blank.

Answer: True

This is in the fifth verse of the song. This line was inspired from the police sirens that Lennon heard in England while trying to write a song.
3. "I am the walrus - ______________."

Answer: Goo goo g'joob

Some people believe that the Beatles were saying "Coocoo-kachoo." They were really saying "Goo Goo G'Joob." Some believe that Paul McCartney is actually the Walrus, because of the line in Glass Onion that states ,"Here's a clue for you all. The walrus is Paul."
4. "Sitting on a __________ waiting for van to come."

Answer: cornflake

This is in the second verse of the song. Lennon wrote this line of his song because he liked cornflakes very much.
5. "Yellow matter ___________ dripping from a dead dog's eye."

Answer: custard

This is in the sixth verse of the song. When recording the song John Lennon messed up this line. They had to edit over this line in the song. If you listen closely you can hear that the instruments don't match up with the words.
6. "See how they fly like _______ in the sky." True or false: Sally goes in the blank.

Answer: False

"See how they fly like Lucy in the sky" This line comes from "I am the Walrus." This line is referencing the song "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" also by the Beatles.
7. "Sitting in an English ________ waiting for the sun."

Answer: garden

This line comes from the ninth verse. The "Magical Mystery Tour" album was written for a Beatles movie, released only in England, about the English countryside.
8. "Elementary _______ singin' Hare Krishna."

Answer: penguin

This line comes from the twelfth verse. Lennon said that one of his inspirations for this line came from Bob Dylan. He thought that Dylan got away with murder in his song lyrics. He was quoted as later saying "I can write this crap, too."
9. At the end of the song you hear some voices from act four of Shakespeare's play "King Lear." What scene of act 4 do they come from?

Answer: 6

The lines are from Act 4, Scene 6 of a BBC radio production of the play. Since the lines discuss death, some see them as supporting the idea of a "Paul is dead" conspiracy:

Oswald
Slave, thou hast slain me: villain, take my purse:
If ever thou wilt thrive, bury my body;
And give the letters thou find'st about me
To Edmund Earl of Gloucester, seek him out
Among the British party: O, untimely death.
(Oswald dies)

Edgar
I know thee well: a serviceable villain;
As duteous to the vices of thy mistress
As badness would desire.

Gloucester
What, is he dead?

Edgar
Sit you down father, rest you...

The lyrics to a verse from "Glass Onion" are: "I told you about the walrus and me-man, You know that we're as close as can be-man, Well here's another clue for you all, The walrus is Paul.
10. "Expert textpert choking ________." True or false: Smokers goes in the blank.

Answer: True

This line is in the 11th verse. Obviously this entire song is nonsense. In fact, the only line that Lennon intened to be taken seriously was the first line. "I am he as you are he as you are me and we are all together." This was supposed to represent unity of all people.
