Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida ______" (first time)

Answer: honey

"In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" was recorded in 1968. Every Saturday I had to watch my next door neighbor's kid, Patty, while her mother went to work. This was her favorite song at the time and she could do the drum solo on her small drum set so well that she impressed all of my pals. Patty was only ten years old but, she was pretty cool for a skinny kid. My friends all liked her.
2. "Don't you ____"

Answer: know

This song was 17:05 minutes long! Patty played my 8-track tape of this song so many times it broke. We had to get in the car and go downtown to a record store to buy a new tape. All the way there she kept pounding out the drum solo with the drum sticks I gave her on the back of my car seat. That little girl did not miss a beat!
3. "That I ___ you"

Answer: love

This album sold over 8 million copies. We got to the record store and I got a new copy. After paying at the register I noticed that Patty was missing! My younger brother and I ran out of the store looking everywhere for her. She was nowhere to be found. Frantically we ran up and down the street calling out to her.
4. "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida _____" (second time)

Answer: baby

This album stayed on the charts for 140 weeks. I finally found her sitting in an ice cream parlor eating a double dip chocolate ice cream cone. I made her swear that she would never tell her mother that we lost her.
5. "Don't ___ know..."

Answer: you

It was in the top ten for 81 weeks. Years later I was with some friends at a club just off the college campus that featured all the oldies for the 50's and 60's when Patty walked in. She was no longer a skinny little kid. She remembered me right away. I almost fell over seeing that she had 'grown up' so to speak.
6. "That ____ always"

Answer: I'll

"In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" was the first album ever to go "Platinum". When my friends asked me how I knew such a beautiful girl, I said that she lived next to me when I was in high school and that she was our second base when we played street baseball. One guy asked, "She played second base?" "No", I said, "She was second base!" I explained that I made her sit in the middle of the street and when we rounded second base we would step on her as if she was the base.
7. "Always be _____ "

Answer: true

Patty had finally caught up with the rest of us. She said that she was engaged to marry a friend of my younger brother's and that she was working on her degree at the University. She told me that she was also a model for swimwear at a local department store.
8. "Oh, ___ you"

Answer: won't

I asked her if she could still play the drum solo to this song. She assured me that she could and asked me to go and request that the D.J. play this tune. I did just that. Several songs later, he cranked out "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" at full volume.
9. "Come ____ me"

Answer: with

Patty didn't miss a beat as she pounded out the drum solo on the bar by just using her hands. Everyone was totally impressed as they watched this beautiful girl toss back her hair and go to work as only she could. WOW!
10. "And _____ my hand. Oh won't you come with me and walk this land? Please take my______"

Answer: take ... hand

Patty didn't stay after the song was over. She said that she had a date to get to. As she was leaving she turned to me and said: "Kabel, I still have the drum sticks that you gave me. Did I ever tell you that when I was a young girl that I had a crush on you?" Before I could answer her she left the club. My pals really let me have it for letting such a beautiful and talented girl get away. Oh well!
