Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Oasis: "When I was young I thought I had my own key"

Answer: "Fade Away"

The main songwriter in Oasis is Noel Gallagher. His brother Liam does the singing. The brothers worship the Beatles; therefore it is not surprising that Liam called his son Lennon.
2. Blur: "The suburbs they are sleeping"

Answer: "The Stereotypes"

For a time in the mid-nineties Oasis and Blur were virtually at war with each other. Albarn and the Gallagher brothers exchanged harsh words on many occasions.
3. James: "So frightened that he won't love her"

Answer: "She's A Star"

All these songs feature on James' greatest hits album. "Sit Down" is by far the most well known song by James. The lead singer of the band is Tim Booth, who was part of the duo Booth and the Bad Angel.
4. The Charlatans: "Feeling good, feeling high, it's a rush"

Answer: "Just Lookin'"

The Charlatans were one of the earlier members of the "Britpop" movement. It was bands like them and the Stoneroses who paved the way for bands like Oasis and Blur.
5. Pulp: "Your Ladbroke Grove looks turn me on"

Answer: "I Spy"

Pulp's flamboyant frontman is Jarvis Cocker. The band was originally from Sheffield, England. Ladbroke Grove is a suburb of West London.
6. The Stoneroses: "Down, down. You bring me down."

After the Stoneroses split up, John Squires went on to form a band called the Seahorses which, interestingly, is an anagram of "He Hates Roses".
7. The Smiths: "A punctured bicycle on a hillside desolate"

Answer: "This Charming Man"

8. The Jam: "You'd better stop dreaming of the quiet life."

Answer: "A Town Called Malice"

The Jam was very succesful in the eighties; lead singer Paul Weller has also enjoyed success with The Style Council and then as a solo artist.
9. New Order: "He Told Me To Close My Eyes"

Answer: "1963"

When Ian Curtis died, Joy Division was no more and New Order arose from the ashes with a new lead singer Bernard Sumner, who was to become the other half of Electronic.
10. The Happy Mondays: "I don't have a decent bone in me."

Answer: "Kinky Afro"

Two of the answers were made up. Only "Kinky Afro" and "Step On" were real Happy Mondays song titles. Shaun Ryder was the band's frontman. He later formed a band called Black Grape.
