Tech N9ne sampled "Darling Nikki" for his 2004 album "Vintage Tech". As recently as 2010 "Darling Nikki" was still being sampled in rap music when Nicki Minaj used it in her 2010 song "Blow Ya Mind".

"Big Brother" was a title track for Kanye West's album "Graduation" which was released through Jay Z's Roc-A-Fella music in 2007. Both Jay Z and Kayne West sampled together another 1979 song from the late Prince Rogers Nelson, when in 2011 they released "Welcome to the Jungle" which sampled "When We're Dancing Close and Slow".

Originally known as "Tung Twista" Carl Terrell Mitchell goes by just "Twista" today and is known for his ability to rap super-fast. All of the other artists that are listed are some of my favorite rappers that hail from Chicago.

Eric Lynn Wright, known in the rap world as Eazy-E, incorporated "Let's Go Crazy" on his first solo album "Eazy-Duz-It" in 1988 after N.W.A disbanded. Eazy-E was widely known in gangsta rap for his feud with Death Row Records co-founder and ex N.W.A member Dr.Dre and his protege Snoop Dog. Sadly Eric would pass away on March 26, 1995 shortly after disclosing to the world he had AIDS.

Born Lana Michelle Moorer, October 11, 1970, MC Lyte is considered amongst many as the rap pioneer for female rappers. Along with other female rapping greats of the 1980s like Queen Latifah and Salt N Pepa, Lana Moorer showed the rap world that females can control the mic just as well as their male counterparts could.

Public Enemy is a hip-hop group that has its roots in Long Island, New York. Known for a lot of things including his baggy pants, Stanley Kirk Burrell goes by just Hammer nowadays and is still recording music. Albeit without as much commercial success as he once had.
