Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "Hey Clinton! Hey Yeltsin! Got problems? You phone me."

Answer: King of Spain

Their signature song! This is likely the most popular Moxy song and the one that even someone who doesn't know Moxy Früvous would probably recognize. From the album 'Bargainville.'
2. "What the heck time is it now?"

Answer: Ash Hash

"I can't remember where I put the bed!" From 'The B Album.' A fun little satire about pot use. This album came out with the intention of 'appeasing' the fans until a larger album could be completed. Its songs are primarily short, fun, satirical songs.
3. "I can't believe we ever lived that way!"

Answer: You Will Go to the Moon

One of my favorites! From the album 'You Will Go to the Moon.' This song was done a capella with a pseudo barbershop feel to it.
4. "The butcher, the baker, the boozer . . . it doesn't matter if you're skinny or fat."

Answer: Earthquakes!

From the album 'Thornhill.' This album was named for the Ontario town in which the band got its start.
5. "And the band played on as the helicopters whirred."

Answer: The Drinking Song

One of their first and best songs (in my opinion). From the album 'Bargainville.' It deals with the consequences of not dealing with a drinking problem until it was too late.
6. "We're not just fictional device, we sail ravines and give advice."

Answer: The Present Tense Tureen

From the album 'Wood.' This album is a very interesting one where the group explores some more serious themes such as cults and that feeling at the moment when you realize your girl/boyfriend and you aren't right for each other.
7. "A train, a train, a train, a train."

Answer: Green Eggs and Ham

Moxy Früvous got into trouble for their rap rendition of Dr. Seuss' "Green Eggs and Ham." It can only be found on their original release tape 'Moxy Früvous' and cannot be released on CD or re-recorded. They do still perform it live, however.
8. "Who's our favorite family at the end of the 20th Century?"

Answer: The Norbals!

As with many of their songs, Moxy is making fun of something in our society. In this case it's our predilection for really poor sitcoms about families with no values. From 'The C Album.'
9. "Should Quebec separate?"

Answer: The Kids' Song

When I went to see Moxy live a few years ago they performed this song and when they sang that line the response was a majority 'NO.' But then, right before they sang again somebody said, 'OK' and the group broke up laughing. From 'The B Album.'
10. "There is a console to my right with reruns of Charlie's Angels every night."

Answer: The Lazy Boy

From the album 'Bargainville.' Again, a satirical slant on our sedate lifestyle of being couch potatoes.
