Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What was the title song of Jethro Tull's 1976 studio album?

Answer: Too Old to Rock and Roll: Too Young To Die

"Too Old to Rock and Roll" is something of a transitional album between the concept albums of the early 1970s and the folk-rock albums of the later 70s. The album was originally intended to be the sound track of a rock musical. The movie never developed but "Too Old to Rock and Roll" is still a great album.
2. What was the Jethro Tull album released in 1979 with an environmental theme?

Answer: Stormwatch

"Stormwatch" is generally considered the last of the Jethro Tull folk-rock albums. But where "Songs from the Wood" and "Heavy Horses" were rather optimistic, "Stormwatch" has a more somber feel.
3. What was the title track of Jethro Tull's 1974 studio album?

Answer: War Child

"War Child" is usually considered the last of the Jethro Tull concept albums. Unlike the previous Tull concept albums, "War Child" is a collection of songs instead of just one long song.
4. What was Ian Anderson's solo album with an avian title?

Answer: The Secret Language of Birds

"The Secret Language of Birds" was Anderson's third solo album. In my opinion, it is his best. A few Tull members did participate. Martin Barre played electric guitar and Andrew Giddings was on piano.
5. This was the only Jethro Tull studio album that did not feature Martin Barre.

Answer: This Was

Martin Barre joined Jethro Tull in 1969. In terms of longevity, this makes him a close second to Ian Anderson, who has been with the band since its founding in 1967.
6. Which of these songs appeared on the 1971 album "Aqualung?"

Answer: Locomotive Breath

"Locomotive Breath" is a Tull fan favorite. It is also one of the few Jethro Tull songs that often gets air play. "Locomotive Breath" has been covered by Styx and W.A.S.P.
7. Which of these songs can be found on Jethro Tull's "Warchild" album?

Answer: Bungle in the Jungle

"Bungle In The Jungle" is another one of those rare Tull tracks that often gets air play.
8. What concept album did Jethro Tull release in 1973?

Answer: A Passion Play

"A Passion Play" was Jethro Tull's second concept album. "Thick as a Brick" was their first concept album in 1972.
9. Which of these songs can be found on the 1987 "Crest of a Knave" album?

Answer: Farm on the Freeway

"Crest of a Knave" won a Grammy in 1988 for "Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance Vocal or Instrumental." The award was pretty controversial because Jethro Tull was not considered a hard rock band. Many people still think this is one of the biggest Grammy goofs of all time.
10. The cover art of what Jethro Tull album showed Ian Anderson leading a pair of Clydesdales?

Answer: Heavy Horses

"Heavy Horses" is one of Tull's folk-rock albums. Unlike their previous "Songs of the Wood," "Heavy Horses" was meant to give a more realistic account of country life.
