Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. From which Nirvana song, recorded during their "MTV Unplugged" performance would you find the following lyrics: "Find my nest of salt, everything's my fault"?

Answer: All Apologies

"I usually don't put any meaning into my lyrics. But later I end up trying to find meanings for them when interviewed and stuff. My lyrics are normally at the last second." - Kurt Cobain
2. "It's okay to eat fish 'cause they don't have any feelings." Which song's lyrics are these?

Answer: Something In The Way

This lyric became a pretty famous 'quote' by Kurt Cobain. But it had been said before.
3. "But those were all just guesses, wouldn't help you if they could." Which song are these lyrics found in?

Answer: Plateau

Kurt doesn't play guitar for this song. This was the first song in the concert where Cris and Curt of the Meat Puppets performed played the guitar. The song, too, was composed by them.
4. "Would you like to hear my voice sprinkled with emotion, invented at your birth?" Which song is this?

Answer: Oh Me

Once again, Kurt Cobain never played the guitar for this song. He sang. But he was joined in singing during the chorus by one of the Meat Puppets.
5. "Don't expect me to cry for all the reasons you had to die." What is the song's name?

Answer: Jesus Don't Want Me For A Sunbeam

This wasn't an original Nirvana song. It was by the Vaselines. They mentioned it before playing it and altered it a little.
6. "Sliver" was played in "MTV Unplugged" (the CD, not the actual concert).

Answer: False

No it wasn't. Even when Kurt Cobain asked the audience if they had 'any requests', they didn't consider Sliver.
7. "Let me clip your dirty wings." What song does this come in?

Answer: Polly

Kurt Cobain was talking about a 14 year old girl, called Polly, who was kidnapped. In 1987, Polly was returning from a concert in Tacoma, Washington when she was abducted by a man named Gerald Friend. He took her back to his mobile home and raped her. Polly was tortured, but she managed to escape when Friend took her for a ride and stopped for gas. He was arrested and sent to jail.
8. "I searched for form and land, for years and years I roamed." What song do these lyrics come in?

Answer: The Man Who Sold The World

The Man Who Sold The World is originally by David Bowie.
9. "His head was found in a driving wheel." What song is this?

Answer: Where Did You Sleep Last Night

This was the last song they played for the concert and the only one where Kurt finally yells out the lyrics at the end. This ultimately led to a deafening applause.
10. "My heart is broke but I have some glue." What song does this come in?

Answer: Dumb

This song, too, shows how lyrics just spewed out of him and his likeness for being blunt for lyrics.
