Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe were such huge fans of London's West End, they began performing under the name West End. They changed to the Pet Shop Boys because the guys felt the name made them sound like an English rap group!
6. Who is Stuart Leslie Goddard?

Answer: Adam Ant

Adam and the Ants gained a following in the late 1970's; however, the new wave/punk movement that began swirling around the US in the 80's was when, as a solo artist, he became known to most mainstream American audiences.

"Goody Two Shoes" and "Friend or Foe" were big hits for Adam in the UK and the US during this time.
7. Manager Malcolm McLaren encouraged members of "the Ants", from Adam and the Ants, to break away and form their own band, which would allow Adam Ant to focus on a solo career. What was the name of the band that was formed by the former Ants?

Answer: Bow Wow Wow

Guitarist Matthew Ashman, bassist Leigh Gorman and drummer David Barbarossa were the former Ants who left "the colony" so to speak to form this spin off band.

Malcom McLaren discovered the teen lead singer, Annabella Lwin, when she was just 14 years old! She was working in a dry cleaners, singing along to a Stevie Wonder tune on the radio and was eventually hired to front Bow Wow Wow. Their biggest US hit was "I Want Candy".
