1. We all know about the success The Guess Who had in Canada in the 60s. That success finally translated itself to U. S. success in 1969 and 1970, with songs like "These Eyes", "Laughing", and "American Woman". Their 1970 LP called "Share The Land" yielded the title cut, plus one more top 20 hit. Name it.

Answer: Hand Me Down World

"Hand Me Down World" reached number 17 on the U. S. charts and was part of a two year run in which the group yielded eight straight Top 40 hits. The list consisted of "These Eyes", "Laughing", "Undun", "No Time", "American Woman" (their only number one hit on the list), "No Sugar Tonight", and the aforementioned "Hand Me Down World", and "Share The Land".

Their first hit way back in 1965, called "Shakin' All Over" was a number one hit in their homeland of Canada, but only charted as high as number 22 in the U. S.
2. "Sheila", "Everybody", "Sweet Pea", and "Dizzy" are all very recognizable hits from Tommy Roe, which were released during the 60s. However, he did have one hit in 1970 which did really well on the charts. Can you name it?

"Jam Up and Jelly Tight" was his final Top 10 hit, peaking at number eight that year. Roe goes back to 1962 with "Sheila" which was a number one record. The others mentioned were all Top Ten hits in the 60s for Tommy, with "Dizzy" being his other number one hit, in 1969.
3. The Fortunes came to the U. S. from England in 1965, and scored with "You've Got Your Troubles". They followed with a minor hit called "Here It Comes Again". They they had a six year gap before their final Top 40 U.S. hit. What was it?

Answer: Here Comes That Rainy Day Feeling

This song topped out in the U. S. at number 15 on the charts. They followed with their last charting hit "Freedom Come, Freedom Go" which only charted at number 72. The others mentioned above were songs they recorded which never charted. Oh, "You've Got Your Troubles" was a number seven hit in 1965.
4. Johnny Rivers was a prolific hitmaker of the 60s with songs like "Memphis", "Mountain Of Love", "Secret Agent Man", "Midnight Special", and numerous other hits throughout the 60s. However, after "Summer Rain" made the Top 20 in 1967, Rivers released a number of songs which couldn't crack the U.S. Top 40. Finally after five years, he had a major hit with this 1972 cover song. Which one?

Answer: Rockin' Pneumonia-Boogie Woogie Flu

He actually did cover all of the possible answers above, and they all charted, but "Boogie Woogie Flu" was the only one that could be considered successful, topping out at number six on the U. S. charts. Rivers had 11 Top 20 hits between 1962 and 1967, highlighted by his first hit "Memphis" which reached number two, and back to back hits of "Poor Side Of Town" (his only number one, in 1966), and a cover of "Baby I Need Your Lovin'", which made number three.

After "Boogie Woogie Flu" Rivers had some minor successes on the charts, and then hit the Top Ten again in 1977 with "Swayin' To The Music (Slow Dancing)".
5. Harry Nillson had three Top Ten hits in the U. S. in the early 70s. "Everybody's Talkin'" was one in 1970, "Without You" was another in 1971, and there was one more which followed in 1972. What was it?

Answer: Let It Ride

"Long Tall Glasses", which reached number nine, was the first hit in the U. S. which he released there. He had previously written a smash hit recorded by Three Dog Night in the U. S. called "The Show Must Go On". Sayer released the song with his own vocals in the U.K., and it went to number two there.
