6. Twisted Sister had a hit in 1984 with "We're Not Gonna Take It" -- which later became the subject of testimony before the U.S. Senate! According to that testimony, what was the inspiration for the video?

Answer: The Wile E. Coyote cartoons

Twisted Sister was a heavy metal band who were extremely popular in the mid 1980s. Their breakthrough album, "Stay Hungry", was released in 1984. Their follow-up, "Come Out And Play", released the following year, was a combination of their old metal roots and their newfound pop sound and was not received well by fans.

This, along with their overexposure in the press, led to their decline in popularity and breakup in 1987. Twisted Sister was also targeted by the Parents Musical Resource Centre, led by Susan Baker, wife of former Secretary of State Jim Baker and Tipper Gore, wife of former Vice President Al Gore.

The group was criticized for showing violence in their video. According to the book 'Bang Your Head-The Rise And Fall Of Heavy Metal,' Dee Snider, the lead singer, testified before the Senate that the video was supposed to be about harmless cartoon violence.
7. Which of these legendary groups hit only one hit with their 1987 single "Touch Of Grey"?

Answer: Grateful Dead

The Grateful Dead was a psychedelic rock group who had performed since 1965. They had several minor 1960s/70s hits, such as "Truckin'" and "Uncle John's Band". None of their hits even cracked the Top 40 in America until "Touch Of Grey" went to number nine in 1987. Jerry Garcia, the group's frontman, died of a heart attack in 1995, while seeking treatment for drug abuse.
8. Queensryche's 1991 hit "Silent Lucidity" was inspired by which masterpiece album?

Answer: Pink Floyd "The Wall"

Queensryche was a heavy metal from the late 1980s/early 90s. Their 1990 album "Empire" produced several singles and videos, such as "Empire" and "Jet City Woman". Only "Silent Lucidity" made it to the top ten, reaching number nine on the charts.
9. This band had a number 20 hit in 1993 with "No Rain"; the video for the song featured a girl dressed as a large bee. Who was the band?

Answer: Blind Melon

Blind Melon had even better success with their video. Unfortunately, they were never able to repeat their success. Their singer, Shannon Hoon, died in October, 1995, at age 28.
10. Candlebox had a 1994 hit which which of these songs?

Answer: Far Behind

"Far Behind" went to number 18 on the American charts. The group had other singles off their self-titled debut album, but none of them even cracked the Top 40.
