Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "Inside, outside, leave me alone. Inside, outside, nowhere is home. Inside, outside, where have I been? Out of my brain on the five-fifteen."

Answer: The Who

"5:15", from the album "Quadrophenia", originally released in 1973. In my opinion, "Quadrophenia" is a slightly better film than "Tommy", but "Tommy" is a slightly better album. A young Sting actually plays a pretty cool Bell Boy in "Quadrophenia", but you gotta love Keith Moon as Uncle Ernie in "Tommy".
2. "She holds her head so high, like a statue in the sky. Her arms are wicked and her legs are long. When she moves my brain screams out this song."

Answer: The Doors

"Hello, I Love You", from the album "Waiting for the Sun", originally released in 1968. After the death of Jim Morrison in 1971, Iggy Pop was considered for the role as the Doors' lead singer, but this never materialized. In 2002, surviving members began touring as "The Doors 21st Century", featuring Ian Astbury, formerly of The Cult, on lead vocals. Astbury sounds very much like Morrison.
3. "'Cause they're waiting for me, they're looking for me. Every single night, they're driving me insane, those men inside my brain."

Answer: Cheap Trick

"Dream Police", from the album of the same name, originally released in 1979. Aside from the title track, this album also includes the classics, "Voices", "Gonna Raise Hell", and "I Know What I Want".
4. "Hannah baby was a honey of a girl; her eyes were hazel and her teeth were slightly curved. She took my guitar and she began to play. She sang a song to me, stuck right in my brain."

Answer: The Rolling Stones

"Memory Motel", from the album "Black and Blue", originally released in 1976. Mick, Keith and the boys did a most excellent version of this seven-minute ballad with special guest, Dave Matthews, that can be found on the Stones' 1998 live album, "No Security".
5. "If you think I'll sit around while you chip away my brain, listen, I ain't foolin' and you'd better think again. Out there is a fortune waiting to be had; you think I'll let it go, you're mad."

Answer: Judas Priest

"You've Got Another Thing Comin'", from the album "Screaming for Vengeance", originally released in 1982. I just love the part in the video where the dude's head explodes like a pumpkin....way cool.
6. "I've got a baby's brain and an old man's heart; took eighteen years to get this far. Don't always know what I'm talkin' about. Feels like I'm livin' in the middle of doubt."

Answer: Alice Cooper

"I'm Eighteen", from the album "Love It To Death", originally released in 1971. Legend has it that while Vincent Furnier was still a member of the Nazz, his mother was playing with a Ouija board and it mysteriously spelled out the name "Alice Cooper". Of course, Furnier named his next band Alice Cooper, and later he came to be known as Alice Cooper, and the rest is shock-rock history. "Love It To Death" is one of the ten greatest albums ever recorded.
7. "When Oswald shot Kennedy, he was insane, but still we watch the reruns again and again. We all sit glued while the killer takes aim. 'Hey Mom, there goes a piece of the President's brain!'"

Answer: The Kinks

"Give the People What They Want", from the album of the same name, originally released in 1981. This album spent 36 weeks on the U.S. record charts, longer than any other Kinks' album. This is a fantastic album from start to finish - the greatest of many great Kinks' albums.
8. "Just get me to the airport and put me on a plane. Hurry, hurry, hurry, before I go insane. I can't control my fingers, I can't control my brain. Oh no, oh oh oh oh."

Answer: The Ramones

"(I Wanna Be) Sedated", from the album "Road to Ruin", originally released in 1978. This album also includes the tunes, "I Want You Around", "Slug", and "I Just Wanna Have Something To Do".
9. "But it was only fantasy. The wall was too high, as you can see. No matter how he tried, he could not break free. And the worms ate into his brain."

Answer: Pink Floyd

"Hey You", from the album "The Wall", originally released in 1979. Bob Geldof from the Boomtown Rats starred as Pink in the 1982 movie, "Pink Floyd: The Wall". Roger Waters is credited with writing the film.
10. Now, without going back to peek, tell me: What one word was used at least once in each of the previous nine lyrics?

Answer: Brain

"Brains in black butter!"
