Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Bobby Blotzer, Stephen Pearcy, Warren DeMartini

Answer: Ratt

Drums, vocals, guitar. Warren was actually had some pretty cool guitar solos.
2. Glenn Tipton, Ian Hill, K.K. Downing

Answer: Judas Priest

With Glenn and KK both excellent lead guitar players, and Rob Halford screaming like a banshee, Priest DEFINED the term 'Heavy Metal' in the 70's.
3. Michael Anthony

Answer: Van Halen

Not the most awe inspiring musician, but he did his part and added the high harmonies to many VH tunes.
4. Mathias Jabs, Hermann Rarebell, Francis Buchholz, Klaus Meine

Answer: Scorpions

Lead guitar, drums, bass, and vocals. I think the spellings are accurate. I'm still not positive about how to pronounce 'Mathias Jabs.' Along with rhythm guitarist Rudy Schenker (yes, Michael's brother), these guys can rock.
5. Brad Gillis, Jeff Watson, Jack Blades - had hit 'Don't Tell Me You Love Me.'

Answer: Night Ranger

Lead guitars, bass. Even though their ballads were more popular, they did have some good rocking tunes and cool guitars parts. Blades went on to write and perform some decent tunes with 'Damn Yankees.'
6. Phil Rudd, Cliff Williams, Brian Johnson

Answer: ACDC

Drums, Bass, Rhythm Guitar. I'm sure it would have been easier had I mentioned Angus and Malcolm Young or Bon Scott.
7. Eric Bloom, Buck Dharma

Answer: Blue Oyster Cult

Lead vocs, lead guitar. Go go Godzilla! Last I knew, they were still touring, despite no new album in years!
8. Ian Gillan, Ian Paice, Roger Glover

Answer: Deep Purple

Lead vocs, drummer (this guy was very underrated), and bass.
9. Rudy Sarzo, Tommy Aldridge, Randy Rhoads

Rudy and Randy also played together in Quiet Riot. Tommy is another very underrated drummer. Randy was one of the best there have ever been, RIP.
10. Bun E. Carlos, Tom Peterson, Rick Neilson

Answer: Cheap Trick

Drummer, bass, lead guitar. Great song writing and riffs on their 70's and early 80's albums especially. Robin Zander sang lead vocs.

Answer: REO Speedwagon

Lead guitar, lead vocs. They had some decent rocking tunes even before their breakthrough album, 'High Infidelity.'
12. Steve Smith, Ross Valory, Greg Rollie, Neil Schon.

Answer: Journey

Drums, bass, keys. I'm sure you would've known if I mentioned Steve Perry, but that would be too easy now, wouldn't it?
13. Wally Stocker, Jonathan Cain, John Waite

Answer: The Babys

Lead guitar, keyboards, lead vocs. Get their 'Anthology' album and you'll realize how many great songs they wrote that you recognize. Cain went on to perform with, and write several hit songs with Journey after Greg Rollie left.

Answer: The Eagles

Lead guitar (along with Joe Walsh), bass. You've heard of this band, right?

16. Rik Emmett. Guitars and singer for a canadian power trio in the 70's and early 80's. Had hits 'Lay it on the Line, Fight the Good Fight, Magic Power.'

Answer: Triumph

Pretty talented guy. Good songwriter, guitarist, and singer.
17. John Paul Jones

Answer: Led Zeppelin

Bass and keys. You didn't expect me to list Plant, Page, or Bonham, did you? Jones contributed more to Zeppelin's tunes than he seems to get credit for.
18. David Coverdale, John Sykes

Answer: Whitesnake

Vocals, lead guitar. John left the band before they achieved huge pop success.
19. Eric Carr, Vinnie Vincent

Answer: Kiss

Drums, lead guitar. Replaced original members Peter Criss and Ace Frehley.

Lead guitar, lead guitar, drums. Rick lost his left arm in a car accident but was able to continue with the band thanks to electronic drums with extra foot pedals. Steve died a few years back after a losing battle with alcohol.
