1. Although written in 1926, which song recorded by Elvis Presley in 1960 was a big hit for him?

Answer: Are You Lonesome Tonight?

"Are You Lonesome Tonight?" had been recorded several times over the years up until 1950, when the song first reached the Billboard pop chart when it was recorded by the Blue Barron Orchestra. It peaked at number nineteen after eight weeks in the chart. This 1950 version included additional spoken words to the song, loosely based on Shakespeare's "As You Like It". Later that year Al Jolson also recorded the song, again with the additional spoken words. The next person to record this song was Jaye P Morgan. Her version did not include the spoken words and it made it to number sixty-five on the Billboard chart.

He's so nervous, avoiding all her questions
His lips are dry, her heart is gently pounding
Don't you just know exactly what they're thinking?

If you want my body and you think I'm sexy
Come on, sugar, let me know
If you really need me just reach out and touch me
Come on, honey, tell me so
Tell me so Babe".
