The Vogues hit the Number Seven spot twice in 1968 with cover songs. In addition to "My Special Angel" the group took a version of Glen Campbell's 1961 song "Turn Around, Look At Me" to Number Seven. The Pennsylvania group already had hits with "Five O'Clock World" and "You're The One" in 1965 before having success with "My Special Angel".
The Anita Kerr singers backed Bobby Helms' recording of the song. The year 1957 was Helms' best year for chart success. In addition to "My Special Angel" he went to Number Six with "Jingle Bell Rock" and made the Top Forty with "Fraulein". Other artists who recorded "My Special Angel" include Bill Haley and His Comets, Frankie Avalon and Bobby Vinton.
"Everything That Touches You" was a 1968 Top Ten from The Association. The New Colony Six took "I Will Always Think About You" to the Top Forty in 1968. "Will You Love Me Tomorrow?" was a 1968 Top Forty from The 4 Seasons.

Merrilee Rush was born Merrilee Gunst in Seattle, Washington. She met sax player Neil Rush who headed a local band called The Amazing Aztecs and became their singer. The group became Merrilee Rush and the Turnabouts in 1865 and gained popularity in the Northwest. In 1968 the group recorded "Angel of the Morning" in a Memphis studio and hit the US Top Ten. The single and subsequent album were credited to Merrilee Rush and the Turnabouts but session musicians played on the recording. She was nominated for a Grammy for Female Vocalist of the Year in 1968 for "Angel of the Morning".
Merrilee Rush and the Turnabouts released another single, "That Kind of Woman", before Merilee became a solo artist and signed with Scepter Records.
Linda Ronstadt was backed by The Stone Poneys. "Shape of Things to Come" was a 1968 Top Forty by Max Frost and The Troopers. Kasenetz-Katz Singing Orchestral Circus went to Number 25 in 1968 with "Quick Joey Small (Run, Joey, Run)".

Alan O'Day was an only child born in Hollywood, California. After becoming a member of various bands with high school classmates he formed his own band called The Shoves. After high school Alan worked in various aspects of the music business while he played in a band performing at Hollywood clubs such as Whiskey A Go Go.

He landed a job as a songwriter and penned hits including "Angie Baby" which was recorded by Helen Reddy and "Rock And Roll Heaven" by the Righteous Brothers. His success as a songwriter segued into releasing his first album in 1973 titled "Caress Me Pretty Music". Four years later he released "Undercover Angel" for Warner Brothers and it shot to the top of the charts.

The song was his only US Top Forty single. His final single release was in 1980 with "Love At First Sight".

The band formed in 1989 in Marietta, Georgia, as Mr. Crowe's Garden by Chris and Rich Robinson in the early eighties.
After the success of their debut album they began touring as an opening act for ZZ Top before headlining their own shows. The band has undergone personnel changes through the years but the two brothers have remained the driving force. "She Talks to Angels" and "Hard to Handle" were the band's last US Billboard Top Forty singles.

Mark Dinning was raised on a farm near Nashville, Tennessee, and aspired to be a Country music singer. In 1957 Wesley Rose offered him a recording contract. He struggled until he recorded a song written by his sister Jean and her husband titled "Teen Angel". Jean and her sisters Virginia and Lucille were a singing trio known as the The Dinning Sisters.
"Teen Angel" topped the US charts but would be Mark's only US hit. The following year "A Star Is Born (A Love Has Died)" made it to Number 64. Mark continued to perform until his death at age 52 from a heart attack.

Rosie Hamlin wrote the lyrics to "Angel Baby" at age 14 about her boyfriend. Unable to find a label for the song Rosie convinced a local department store to play it in their listening booth. A representative from Highland Records offered them a contract and the song debuted on the airwaves in late 1960 by Rosie and the Originals and became a hit the following year.
Rosie left Highland, recorded an album for Brunswick Records with guitarist Noah Tafolla and toured with the label's acts. She later married Noah and left the music business.
Ruby and the Romantics topped the charts in 1963 with "Our Day Will Come". In 1964 Candy and The Kisses released "The 81". Martha and the Vandellas had a hit with "Heat Wave" in 1962.
