Etta James recorded "I'd Rather Go Blind" in Muscle Shoals at the Fame Studios for her "Tell Mama" LP. Although songwriting credits went to Ellington Jordan and Billy Foster, Etta James has claimed that she wrote the lyrics to the song.
Her breakout song with Chess Records was "At Last". Since "At Last" and "I'd Rather Go Blind" were released in the early sixties James has released over 50 singles from 30 albums.
Koko Taylor became known for her recording of Willie Dixon's "Wang Dang Doodle". In 1967 Denise LaSalle signed with Chess Records but her biggest hit came with Westbound Records in 1971 with "Trapped By A Thing Called Love". Big Maybelle had success with a song called "Candy" in 1956.

"Paradise Theater" was the tenth studio album from Styx and their only US Number One album. "The Best of Times" was a Number Three US single from the album and "Too Much Time on My Hands" was a Top Ten single. Dennis DeYoung and James Young wrote "Snowblind" and guitarist Tommy Show sang lead vocals. The song ended up on flip side of "Mr. Roboto" from their "Kilroy was Here" LP.
Tipper Gore's organization, PMRC, claimed that satanic lyrics could be heard when "Snowblind" was played backwards. Styx keyboardist Dennis DeYoung countered in an interview on "In the Studio" that "We have enough trouble making these records sound right forward".
The J. Geils Band had a 1981 hit with "Centerfold". In 1980 "Keep on Loving You" from the "Hi Infidelity" LP was Reo Speedwagon's first US Number One hit. In 1981 "Turn Me Loose" was the first Top Forty release by Loverboy in the US.

Laura Nyro composed "Sweet Blindness" and included the song on her 1968 "Eli and the Thirteenth Confession" album. "Wedding Bell Blues" and "Stoned Soul Picnic" were two other successful Fifth Dimension songs written by Laura Nyro.

Despite rumors that Dolby was born in Egypt he was born in London as Thomas Morgan Robertson in 1958. He worked primarily as a producer and session musician. His record label stood by him and eventually the courts ruled that Dolby Laboratories could not restrict Dolby from using the name. When he released his debut album titled "The Golden Age of Wireless" it did not include "She Blinded Me with Science" but it was re-released with the song when "She Blinded Me with Science" reached the US Number Five slot. Dolby has continued to release albums but "She Blinded Me with Science" was his highest chart appearance on the US charts to date.

Dickey Betts wrote many of the tunes on the LP including "Crazy Love". Bonnie Bramlett provided backing vocals on the song.
