Ann and Nancy Wilson (sisters), Roger and Mike Fisher (brothers), Mike DeRosier, and Steve Fossen formed Heart in Seattle, Washington. Although the group experienced many changes in its membership, Heart had 20 tunes in Billboard's Hot 100 from 1976-1994. Nine made the top ten.

Their two number one hits were "Alone" (1987) and "These Dreams" (1986). The Highwaymen's "Michael" got to number one in 1961, "The Theme From 'Shaft'" hit the top for Isaac Hayes in 1971, as did "Escape (The Pina Colada Song)" by Rupert Holmes in 1979.

Wilbert Harrison (real name) had only two songs reach the top 40 of the Hot 100: "Kansas City" at number one in 1959, and "Let's Work Together (Part I)" at number 32 in 1970.
