Originating in Los Angeles, Toto was initially comprised of Bobby Kimball, brothers Jeff and Steve Porcaro, Steve Lukather, David Hungate, and David Paich, but the group had several changes in personnel. From 1978-1988, Toto had ten songs reached the top 40 of Billboard's Hot 100. Four made the top ten, but only one got to number one: "Africa" in 1982.

The Tokens did "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" in 1961. A Taste Of Honey offered "Boogie Oogie Oogie" in 1978. Usher performed "Burn" in 2004.

Between 1962 and 1975, Bobby Vinton (born Stanley Robert Vinton) placed 31 tunes on the top 40 of the Hot 100. Nine got to the top ten, including these four that reached number one: "Roses Are Red (My Love)" in 1962, "Blue Velvet" and "There! I've Said it Again" in 1963, and "Mr. Lonely" in 1964.

The Teddy Bears had a number one one-hit wonder on the Hot 100 in 1958 with "To Know Him Is To Love Him". "Take Good Care Of My Baby" by Bobby Vee (1961) and "You're The One That I Want" by John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John (1978) also topped the chart.
7. Van Halen had a top hit with which tune?

In the beginning, Van Halen consisted of the brothers Alex and Eddie Van Halen, Michael Anthony, and David Lee Roth; Sammy Hagar replaced Roth in 1985. TLC was a female trio from Atlanta (Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins, Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas, and Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes). Between 1992 and 2002 in the Hot 100, the group had 11 top 40 numbers, of which nine made the top ten. Four of those topped the chart at number one: "Creep" in 1994, "Waterfalls" in 1995, and "No Scrubs" and "Unpretty" in 1999. "Telstar" was a number one one-hit wonder for The Tornadoes in 1962. Billy Vera & The Beaters performed "At This Moment" in 1986.

In 1996, "How Do You Want It" was done by 2 Pac, featuring KC and JoJo.
