Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Anthony Edwards sings two songs with Tom Cruise in the film "Top Gun". What are they?

Answer: "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'"and "Great Balls of Fire"

Cher was actually one of the background singers in the Righteous Brothers recording of "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'".
2. Farmer Ned sings the song "Birthday" to Sam in "Sixteen Candles"?

Answer: False

Farmer Ted sings to Sam, not Ned! Anthony Michael Hall was the ONLY possible choice for this role in my opinion. Although many people believe this was his debuting role in film, his first actual film, not TV movie, was "Six Pack" in 1982 which also starred Kenny Rogers.
3. Violet and her friends sing this song in the bowling alley before she leaves for New York City in "Coyote Ugly".

Answer: I Will Survive

Although this song was originally released in 1978, it's still a popular song at night clubs today...especially on 'Ladies Night'. Women really seem to like to sing along and dance to this Gloria Gaynor hit.
4. Julia Roberts sing this song while bathing in "Pretty Woman".

Answer: Kiss

Although this song is by Prince and the Revolution, its funky beat should be credited to the funk band Mazarati. Prince had actually given them the song to use on their first album. He liked what the had done to it so much that he took it back from them and released it himself.
5. Before Nicolas Cage and his crew boost cars in "Gone in 60 Seconds", they listen to this song.

Answer: Low Rider

I love the way this song shows the age difference between all the experienced thieves and the 'newbies'! It's such a great scene! 'Low Rider', written and performed by War, was first released in 1975. The band Korn also released a version of this song in 1996. It's OK, but the original is a classic!
6. This song plays during the opening scene of "Lethal Weapon".

Answer: Jingle Bell Rock

This song has been performed by numerous artists and has sold over 100 million copies, but the original version by Bobby Helms is still the most well-known.
7. "The Addam's Family" theme song plays while the Henderson family clean up Harry in "Harry and the Hendersons".

Answer: True

Did you know that the Addams Family has actually been around since the 1930's? They achieved their popularity status by first appearing in 'The New Yorker' Magazine. I don't think they could have picked a better song to depict this scene than that!
8. Michael dances with many women in the bar to this classic song in the film, "Michael".

Answer: Chain of Fools

This is actually one of my favorite songs sung by Aretha Franklin. It may have only made it to Number two on the Top 40 charts in 1968, but it's a Number one hit in my book!
9. Harry and Lloyd sing this song while driving with a killer in the movie "Dumb and Dumber".

Answer: Mockingbird

Does anyone else think there should never had been a sequal to this movie? The song 'Mockingbird' was first done by Inez and Charlie Foxx and later by Carly Simon and James Taylor. Toby Keith performed this song with his daughter a little more recently as well!
10. And finally, if you know the answer to this question, you've watched too many movies! Tom Hanks plays the ukulele and sings this song in "Joe Vs. the Volcano".

Answer: The Cowboy Song

You'd think up some interesting things to sing if you were stranded on floating luggage in the middle of the ocean, too! An interesting thing to watch for the next time you decide to watch this movie would be the lamp that Joe (Tom Hanks) brings into his office. It actually shows some of the events that take place later in the movie, like the volcano itself, and the song it plays is the movie's own theme song!
