The Kalob Griffin Band (better known as The KGB) are an Americana band that were formed in Philadelphia in 2009. The band appear as the live band playing at the house party being thrown by E.L. (played by Seann William Scott) and we see them perform their song "Fortune & Fame" during the first part of the house party scene.
2. "Early Morning"

Formed in 1987, the Jungle Brothers are an American hip-hop group who released their critically acclaimed debut album "Straight Out the Jungle" in July 1988. Their song "Early Morning" plays towards the end of the house party scene as E.L. shows teaching assistant Jacob (played by Anthony Rapp) to the door before we go back inside to see the students dancing.

The Jungle Brothers' song "Freakin' You" is also played in the movie, during the initial stages of the titular road trip.
3. "I'm Gonna Fall"

Northern Irish alternative rock band Ash were formed in 1992, and have primarily been a three-piece, consisting of Tim Wheeler (vocals and guitar), Mark Hamilton (bass), and Rick McMurray (drums) during their career, although they did enlist the services of vocalist and guitarist Charlotte Hatherley during the late 1990s and early 2000s.

Their song "I'm Gonna Fall" plays as we see Josh (played by Breckin Meyer) and Beth (played by Amy Smart) getting more acquainted in Josh's dorm room after the house party.
4. "Mr. E's Beautiful Blues"

American rock band Eels were formed by singer/songwriter Mark Oliver Everett in 1995, and they found international success with their 1996 single "Novocaine for the Soul", which was released as the lead single from their debut album "Beautiful Freak".

Their 2000 single "Mr. E's Beautiful Blues" plays in the movie as we see our four intrepid road-trippers, Josh, E.L., Rubin (played by Paulo Costanzo) and Kyle (played by DJ Qualls) begin their "race against time" from Ithaca, New York to Austin, Texas to recover the tape of Josh and Beth that Josh inadvertently sent to his girlfriend before she has chance to take delivery of it.

The song plays again towards the end of the movie as Barry (played by Tom Green) completes his narration of the story by advising the university tour group of what happened to each of the main characters after their road trip of a lifetime.
5. "Voodoo Lady"

Childhood friends Aaron Freeman and Mickey Melchiondo, who are better known by their stage names Gene Ween and Dean Ween respectively, formed the US alternative rock band Ween in 1984. Their 1994 single "Voodoo Lady" plays during the movie as we see the boys start the second leg of their road trip in a minibus E.L. "borrowed" from a blind school the morning after they stayed in a motel overnight after Kyle's car blew up.
6. "It's Tricky"

Answer: Run-D.M.C.

One of the most successful and influential hip hop acts of all-time, Run DMC were formed in Queens, New York in 1981, and consisted of Joseph "Run" Simmons, Darryl "D.M.C." McDaniels, and Jason "Jam Master Jay" Mizell. Their catchy 1987 single "It's Tricky" plays as we see a somewhat inebriated Kyle "dance" with some of the brothers from the Xi Chi fraternity house that the boys are welcomed into to have a meal and spend the night.
7. "Inside My Love"

Answer: Minnie Riperton

Known professionally as Minnie Riperton, singer/songwriter Zainon Mohd Salleh Riperton-Rudolph was born on 8th November 1947, and died of cancer on 12th July 1979 aged just 31. Her 1975 single "Inside My Love" plays as we see Kyle enjoy a passionate evening with Rhonda (played by Mia Amber Davis) at the Xi Chi fraternity house.
8. "I Wanna Rock"

Answer: Twisted Sister

Fronted by Dee Snider, US heavy metal band Twisted Sister are known for the slapstick humour they employ in some of their music videos. Their 1984 single "I Wanna Rock" plays as we see the boys drive to Barry's grandparents' house, where they spend the night before embarking on the final leg of their road trip.
9. "Lovin' Machine"

American alternative rock trio The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion was formed in New York City in 1991, and consists of Jon Spencer (vocals and guitar), Judah Bauer (guitar and backing vocals), and Russell Simins (drums). Their single "Lovin' Machine" plays as we see our intrepid foursome arrive at the University of Austin, where Josh's girlfriend Tiffany (played by Rachel Blanchard) is a student.
10. "Pumping on Your Stereo"

Answer: Supergrass

Perhaps best known for their 1995 single "Alright", Supergrass were an English Britpop / indie rock band fronted by Gaz Coombes that were active between 1993-2010. Their 1999 single "Pumping on Your Stereo" plays as Josh, E.L., Ruben, and Kyle drive back to Ithaca after Josh and Tiffany break up, mutually realising that a long distance relationship won't work after all.
