That's Not the Name of That Song! Part 2 Quiz

Some of the best rock songs ever written never included the title of the song in the lyrics. Here are a few from the 60s & 70s. After I put my first quiz like this online, friends suggested more songs, so here they are. Thanks to loudmouth61 for a few!

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "I was thinking about what a friend had said, I was hoping it was a lie."

Answer: After the Gold Rush

From the 1970 album of the same name, Neil Young's "After the Gold Rush" has undergone some lyric changes over the years. One of the lines in the song originally said "in the 1970s." Over the years, Neil has changed it to "in the 1980s," "in the twentieth century," and "in the twenty-first century."
2. "Will some woman in this desert land make me feel like a real man?"

Answer: Young Lust

From Pink Floyd's ultimate 1979 release, "The Wall." Underlying themes in all of Pink Floyd's music are insanity (mostly alluding to former member Syd Barrett) and loss of father.
3. "You are the first to have this love of mine."

Answer: N.I.B.

This song, off Black Sabbath's self-titled debut, tells the story of Lucifer falling in love. My favorite Black Sabbath song!
4. "Together we shall go until we die."

Answer: Thank You

From Led Zeppelin II, this is the first song that Robert Plant received writing credit for. This was the song used as my wedding song.
5. "Just as every cop is a criminal, and all the sinners saints."

Answer: Sympathy for the Devil

From the 1968 release "Beggar's Banquet" by the Stones.
6. "It starts when you're always afraid."

Answer: For What It's Worth

This one was released in 1967 by Buffalo Springfield. That band consisted of Stephen Stills, Neil Young and Jim Messina, among others, all three of which went on to become much more successful in their own right.
7. "So you think you can love me and leave me to die?"

Answer: Bohemian Rhapsody

This song by Queen actually charted twice, once upon its original release in 1975 and again 16 years later after its inclusion in "Wayne's World."
8. "I'm just a simple guy, I live from day to day."

Answer: Out on the Tiles

Released on Led Zeppelin III in 1970.
9. "Tell my wife I love her very much."

Answer: Space Oddity

This song by David Bowie was supposedly about Apollo 8. German artist Peter Schilling paid tribute to Major Tom in his song of the same name.
10. "Look out kid, you're gonna get hit."

Answer: Subterranean Homesick Blues

One of rock & roll's most prolific songwriters, Bob Dylan released this in 1965 on "Bring It All Back Home."
