Pink Floyd were disintegrating at this point, with Waters and the other band members heading in different directions. Many critics regard this album as a Waters solo album, although it is credited to Pink Floyd, with Dave Gilmour and Nick Mason both playing on the album. The album was written around the time of the Falklands War between the UK and Argentina.
