1. Where was Brian Molko born?

Answer: Brussels

Brian's father was a banker and the family moved all over the world including Liberia, Scotland and Lebanon. Brian always calls Dundee his home town though, it's where his mother grew up.

2. Brian and Stefan Olsdal both attended the American International School of Luxembourg, but where did they first meet socially?

Answer: South Kennington tube station

Brian is two years older than Stefan so they never really mixed at school but bumped into each other by chance a few years later outside the tube station. Brian invited Stefan to a gig he was performing at and after seeing him play, Stefan suggested they form a band. The rest, as they say, is history.

Brian is lactose intolerant so if he downed a milk shake, the gig would end pretty quickly.

Answer: Malcolm

"Velvet Goldmine" was about a Glam Rock star called Brian Slade (based loosely on David Bowie). The film is supposed to be set in New York but the exterior shots were filmed in Croydon, England. You can tell the cars are driving on the "wrong" side of the road!

Brian was born on December 10, 1972. He fits the description perfectly.

From his time in Luxembourg, Brian is a fluent French speaker. He has performed "Protect Me", "Burger Queen" and "Plaisir d'amour" in French. Very good they are too.

Brian and Stefan make a strange pair on stage as Stef is 6' 4".

The name was chosen from a Captain Beefheart lyric, but didn't last long and they soon became Placebo.

Brian had to leave the American School due to bullying and at 17 moved to London and enrolled at Goldsmiths College.

Answer: David Bowie

Brian and David are good friends. Mr Bowie has appeared on stage with Placebo several times, and they played together at the 1999 Brit Awards.
