Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Robby Kreiger also plays the bass.

Answer: True

Robby Kreiger, The Doors guitarist, not only plays the guitar..but, YES he has played the bass for a couple Doors songs. Such as "Back Door Man" and "Soul Kitchen". However, as you know, The Doors where never really known to have too much bass in their songs (aside from Ray's "Bass Setting" on the organ)..so Robby pretty much stuck to the guitar!
2. Fill in the blank to this lyric: "Hello,________, won't you tell me your name?".

Answer: I love you

"Hello, I Love You" was featured on "Waiting For The Sun", released July, 1968. Other singles on the CD included "The Unknown Soldier" and "Five To One".
3. Which city caused most of the controversy for The Doors?

Answer: Miami

I think everyone can remember the whole "little problem" in Miami... the court cases, the lawyers, the MEDIA! Leave it to Jim for "public drunkenness" and to "expose" himself. Nothing was ever the same for The Doors after Miami, their concerts were canceled from everywhere.
4. What word was constantly being "deleted" from songs, and on the T.V?

Answer: high

"High" (or "Higher") was NOT acceptable! If you listen to the "public" version of "Break On Through (To the Other Side)", you will hear "She Get/She Get/She Get". However, if you can get your hands on the original version, it is really: "She Get High/She Get High/She Get High"! Another example is from "The Ed Sullivan Show", in "Light My Fire", they didn't want Jim to say "Girl we couldn't get much HIGHER!"..but Jim being Jim, said the original version, and..well..let's just say they never played on "The Ed Sullivan Show" again!
5. Which guitar did Robby Kreiger use on their first album?

Answer: Gibson SG

Ahh...the old Gibson SG. It was Robby's first electric guitar (his FIRST was a Mexican Juan Ramirez), and his favourite! He was inspired to take up the electric by Chuck Berry. He had a Gibson SG Standard and a Special!
6. What is the official reason for Jim Morrison's death?

Answer: It is still unknown

July 8th, 1971, Jim was found in his bathtub, by his girlfriend (or "wife"), Pamela. Even though the most recent suspicion is that Jim overdosed, it is still not for sure. Some people BELIEVE HE IS STILL ALIVE! However, no one really knows, anything is possible for the Lizard King.
7. What is Jim's "nickname"?

Answer: The Lizard King

"I am The Lizard King, and I can do ANYTHING!" Jim's famous line. He first said those lines, as he jumped up on a car, as the band were going into one of their first gigs. However, Jim admitted in an interview, "Lizard King...I have no idea what the hell that means". I don't think anyone really does. But, I think the biggest assumption we can make is, Jim loved his reptiles, as they loved him.
8. What is Jim's real name?

Answer: James Douglas Morrison

James Douglas Morrison, born to Steve and Clara Morrison, on December 8th, 1943, in Melbourne, Florida near what is now called Cape Canaveral.
9. Which song did Jack Black sing in "School Of Rock", by The Doors?

Answer: Touch Me

"Come on, come on, come on, come on, come on
Now touch me, babe
Can't you see that I am not afraid
Lawrence is good at piano
He shall be rocking in my show"
These are the famous words "re-written" by Jack Black, of "Touch Me". He says those words as Lawrence (piano player) is first showing him his mad skills, on the keyboard! Even though, Jack does sing the "Immigrant Song", in the movie (in the car, coming back from their first big gig) it is by Led Zeppelin, not The Doors.
10. What company bought "Light My Fire", to use on an advertisement?

Answer: Buick

Jim didn't approve of them selling their song, and after that, the Doors said that all decisions had to be unanimous.
