Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "One dream, one soul, one prize one goal"

Answer: A Kind Of Magic

Did I manage to fool you? Did you click on "One Vision"? No? Well, lots have! This song was released in 1986 on the 17th March. It reached No.3 in the UK charts.
2. "With your narrow minded cronies who are foooooools of the first division"

Answer: Death On Two Legs

This song (one of my personal favourites) reached No.17 in the UK. It is on the album "Night At The Opera". It is allegedly dedicated to an ex manager of theirs who (reportedly) cheated them out of a lot of money.
3. "It ain't much I'm asking, I heard him say"

Answer: I Want It All

This song is from 1989. See, good stuff did come out of the 80's! It also reached No.3.
4. "Ooh, don't I love him so"

Answer: Now I'm Here

This song was written by Brian May. It features the line "Down in the city just Hoople and me." Mott the Hoople was a band, the ONLY band, that Queen supported on tour.
5. "But my dear how 'bout you?"

Answer: I'm Going Slightly Mad

The video for this (great, watch it) includes real live penguins. Even though at the time Freddie Mercury himself was very ill, he was very concerned about their well-being and was constantly worrying about whether they were getting too hot under the lights. Ahh!
6. "He used to be a man with a stick in his hand"

Answer: Headlong

What does this line mean? Do I want to know?
7. "The one we're waiting for is peace on Earth, an end to war"

Answer: The Miracle

This video is also great. It features some little Queen lookalikes who sing. The Freddie-kid is especially brilliant- he gets the prancing just right!
8. "Open fire! (pow pow pow)"

Answer: Flash

This song was the theme to the film called "Flash"(funnily enough). If you were wondering why I decided to call myself General Kala, it's because of this song. "General Kala, Flash Gordon approaching.2" "What do you mean Flash Gordon approaching? Open fire!"
9. "Then I'll defy the laws of nature and come out alive"

Answer: Seven Seas of Rhye

I really adore this song! A "taster" for it (a short instrumental version) appeared on their first album, "Queen", and then the full version appeared on their next one.
10. "I gotta be cool, relax."

Answer: Crazy Little Thing Called Love

This song was released in October 1979. It was written by Freddie Mercury while he was in the bath!
11. "Come on and sit on my hot seat of love"

Answer: Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy

Scary. Very very scary. This was released in 1977. It peaked at No.10 in the charts.
12. "I clothed myself in your glory and your love"

Answer: Save Me

This song really depresses me. It's so great! Who needs Radiohead, huh? Reached No.11 in the charts.
13. "This is your life, dont play hard to get"

Answer: Play The Game

Lots of synthesisers! Tut tut tut. The first Queen song ever to feature a synthesiser. This upset many loyal fans. Probably because all of Queen's albums up until this point had boasted "And nobody played synthesisers!"
14. "And we mean to go on and on and on"

Answer: We Are The Champions

Everyone knows this song. It reached No.2 when it was released in 1977.
15. "I sometimes wish I'd never been born at all"

Answer: Bohemian Rhapsody

Such a fabulous song. It's been voted the nation's best loved song here in the UK (and in one local radio poll both the best loved and the most hated. u-huh.). In 1975 it stayed at no.1 for 9 weeks. I think it's the only song to have gone to no.1 on two separate occasions. Thank Kenny Everett in part for its success.

He was a friend of Freddie's and in two days he played it 14 times on his radio show - hooray!
