Answer: Lou Christie

"Two Faces Have I" was Lou Christie's first Top Ten hit. Earlier in 1963 he scored a Number 24 hit with "The Gypsy Cried". His chart success led to a tour with Dick Clark's Caravan of Stars that was interrupted by a stint in the Army. When he returned from duty he topped the US charts in 1965 with "Lightnin' Strikes".

He continued to release hit singles and his final entry into the US Top Ten came in 1969 when he released "I'm Gonna Make You Mine". "Blue on Blue" and "Blue Velvet" were two 1963 Top Ten hits by Bobby Vinton. "Everybody" by Tommy Roe reached the Number Three slot the same year. Del Shannon scored hits with "Runaway" and "Hats off to Larry" in the early sixties.
2. The duet, "It Takes Two", was a Number Fourteen hit on the 1967 US Billboard charts. Who sang the duet with Marvin Gaye?

Answer: Kim Weston

As a solo artist for Motown Kim Weston released "Take Me in Your Arms (Rock Me a Little While)". She had a major hit with "It Takes Two" with Marvin Gaye which led to the release of an album of songs by the pair titled "Take Two" in 1966. Weston left Motown in 1967 following a royalties dispute and later recorded an LP of duets with Johnny Nash.

She has since joined Motown artists on occasional reunion tours. Mary Wells recorded an entire album of duets with Marvin in 1964 titled "Together". Some of the duets with Marvin and Tammi Terrell included "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" and "Ain't Nothing Like the Real Thing". Gladys Knight and the Pips recorded a version of "I Heard It Through the Grapevine".

It has also been recorded by Marvin Gaye, The Miracles, Creedence Clearwater Revival and many others.
3. Which Motown singer took "Two Lovers" to the US Top Ten in 1962?

Answer: Mary Wells

Before Smokey Robinson's composition, "My Guy", became a Number One success for Mary Wells in 1964 she had hits with "Two Lovers", "The One Who Really Loves You" and "You Beat Me to the Punch". When "I Don't Want to Take a Chance" made it to Number 33 in 1961 Mary became the first female Motown artist to have a US Top Forty single.
At the height of her success she left Motown but never realized the same level of success she had with the label. She died in 1992 of cancer at age 49.
"Clean Up Woman" was done by Betty Wright in 1972. Brenda Holloway was signed by Motown and released "Every Little Bit Hurts" and "You've Made Me So Very Happy" in the sixties. "I Got A Feeling" and "Lost" were sixties releases by Barbara Randolph.

"People Are Strange" was another single release from the "Strange Days" LP. The album made Number Three on Billboard's Top 200 albums and became a Gold Record. The cover shot was taken in New York.
In keeping with their agreement the Doors are credited as songwriters on all the tracks. The band did not have a bass player. Ray Manzarek's keyboard bass did not provide the punch needed for recording so Douglas Lubahn played bass on all the "Strange Days" cuts except "Horse Latitudes".
"The Soft Parade" was released in 1969, "Waiting for the Sun" in 1968 and "Morrison Hotel" in 1970.

The Grass Roots went through a couple of singers before Bob grill came on board. In 1967 Grill sang lead on their first US Top Ten hit, "Let's Live For Today". The band promptly went into the studio and re-recorded tunes that had been previously recorded with singer Kenny Fukomoto. "Where Were You When I Needed You" followed "Let's Live For Today" and the group enjoyed a string of 29 hits that lasted until 1976. Bob Grill began a solo career in 1979.

He later reformed the group and continued touring as part of the bill on nostalgia concerts. "I'd Love To Change the World" was a 1971 Top Forty by Ten Years After. "American Woman" was a 1970 Number One for The Guess Who.

The Buckinghams had sixties hits with "Susan" and "Kind of A Drag".

Steven Georgiou had Greek father and a Swedish mother. When he began performing at London coffee houses he chose the name Cat Stevens and soon ended up on the same bill with artists such as Jimi Hendrix and Engelbert Humperdinck before enjoying a solo career.

In 1971 he began charting several singles in the US including "Moon Shadow", "Peace Train" and "Morning Has Broken". In 1976 he began a conversion to Islam and assumed the name Yusuf Islam. "Chevy Van" was a Number Five single by Sammy Johns in 1975. "Convoy" was a 1975 US Number One by William Dale Fries, Jr under the name of C.W. McCall. Owen Castleman, also known as Boomer Castleman, released the Number 33 Judy Mae in 1975.

"Two Doors Down" was a Country song written and recorded by Dolly Parton. It reached Number 19 on the Billboard Pop charts. Parton also released a Disco style version of "Two Doors Down". "Here You Come Again" and "9 to 5" became other crossover hits for Dolly. "Two Tickets to Paradise" was a single release from Eddie Money's eponymous 1977 album. "Baby Hold On" was also a single release from the album. He left the police department, relocated to Los Angeles and began performing in clubs until he landed a recording contract with Columbia Records. "Stay" and "Running on Empty" were Top Forty releases by Jackson Browne in 1978. Gerry Rafferty took "Right Down the Line" to Number 12 the same year. "Magnet and Steel" went to Number Eight for Walter Egan.
