Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which of these bands released the "Darkness Descends" LP in 1986?

Answer: Dark Angel

It was their second and last LP with vocalist Don Doty. It also featured the drumming genius of Gene Hoglan, who went on to play in Death, Strapping Young Lad, etc.
2. Slayer's debut LP "Show No Mercy" came out in 1983.

Answer: True

November 1983 to be precise. Not long after Metallica's debut LP came out. Slayer were always thrashes Satanic masters! They changed the face of thrash forever!
3. The band Num Skull had to change their band name spelling due to a lawsuit filed by a popular local clown known as "Numb Skull".

Answer: False

I just made up that ridiculous story. The band simply misspelled it on purpose, like a number of bands did back then. Num Skull released an LP in 1988 called "Ritually Abused" that received a lot of praise but not much attention.
4. Which of these album titles IS an Artillery LP?

Answer: Fear Of Tomorrow

Artillery's debut LP released in 1985. Denmark's mark on the thrash map.
"Eat Lead" is the title of an At War song from their 1986 LP "Ordered To Kill". "Back To The Weapons" is the title of a Living Death" Mini-LP from 1986. "Executioner's Song" is the title of the debut Razor LP from 1985.
5. On Blood Feast's 1988 "Face Fate" EP they re-recorded an old song from 1986 that originally appeared on their 1986 demo and was also the band's original band-name. Which song?

Answer: Blood Lust

The song "Blood Lust" was also the original name of the band and they released the "Suicidal Mission" demo in 1986 which included the original recording of this song. Before releasing their debut LP "Kill For Pleasure" in 1987 they changed the band name to Blood Feast. "Vampire" and "R.I.P." are Blood Feast songs, but neither was the previous name of the band. Both songs are on Side B of the "Face Fate" EP, but they're simply re-mixed versions from the debut LP (1987) that they originally appeared on.
6. Besides the popular Canadian band Sacrifice, there was also a band called Sacrifice from Japan that released an LP in 1987. Which album title belongs to that release?

Answer: Crest Of Black

Japan's Sacrifice even had a logo almost exactly like the Canadian band's. "Total Steel" was the second LP by the Japanese Sacrifice in 1990. "Torment In Fire" and "Forward To Termination" were both LP titles of the Canadian Sacrifice (released in 1986 and 1987).

Answer: Exodus "Bonded By Blood"

One of thrashes masterpieces released in 1985 and the only one with vocalist Paul Baloff (R.I.P.).

Answer: Kill For Pleasure

Blood Feast were a thrash band from New Jersey.
"Face Fate" was their 1988 EP title.
