Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which label was able to boast both The Primitives and My Bloody Valentine on their roster at one point?

Answer: Lazy

My Bloody Valentine quickly ditched their fey-pop sound for something altogether more disturbing, while the Primitives eventually descended into major label hell. Shame.
2. Which member of Primal Scream briefly drummed for The Jesus and Mary Chain?

Answer: Bobby Gillespie

The Mary Chain seemed to go through half of the Glasgow area before deciding they were much happier with just the two of them hating each other (and a bunch of session musicians)!
3. Enjoyable Indiepop rubbish from the late 1980s : We've Got A ___________ And We're Gonna Use It?

Answer: Fuzzbox

I thought they were great, then they signed to a major, and then they released 'International Rescue'. Some bands never learn. Another shame.
4. Remember the Wedding Present? Well non-UK players beware! After which maverick genius football (soccer) player was their debut album named?

Answer: George Best

Yes, George Best was as good as they come in his heyday. The Wedding Present later made history by releasing 12 singles in each month of the year 1992, all of which made the UK top 40! Henrik Larsson scored 53 goals for Celtic FC in 2001.
5. The Teenage Fanclub's debut album was called 'A ________ Education?'?

Answer: Catholic

Released initially on Paperhouse records in 1990. And that's a fact.
6. Blur, along with a few other bands, were part of the whole Britpop shenanigans in the mid 90s. What was their name before they signed to Food records?

Answer: Seymour

Just as well they changed it, although the original name seems strangely appropriate!
7. The cost of producing which band's album nearly bankrupted Creation before their merger with Sony?

Answer: My Bloody Valentine

One of the laziest bands in the world, perfectionists to an extreme, the end result was worth it. 'Loveless' is a bit of a classic.
8. Which UK techno favourite remixed My Bloody Valentine's 'Glider'?

Answer: Andrew Weatherall

Andrew Weatherall also being partially reponsible for the sublime 'Screamadelica' by Primal Scream.
9. Scottish label Chemikal Underground were pretty consistent Indie performers in the late 1990s and early 2000. Which of these bands belong together, which of these bands are kinda the same, because one of these bands is doin' it's own thing, which one hasn't been on Chemikal Underground?

Answer: Add N To X

Did you get that one right? If so, then a big pat on the back, a shiny star and a waterproof anorak to you!
10. Which of the following bands released 'The Man Don't Give A ****'?

Answer: Super Furry Animals

Well, he doesn't does he? Hear'say are no doubt finding this out as we speak. Mogwai are Scottish, the others are Welsh. That's it for your trivia.
