Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Uh..Ok so what song is this from? "Days spent with the grass and sun"

Answer: The Boo Radleys- "Wake up Boo"

"Summers gone, Days spent with the grass and sun, I don't mind, to pretend I do seems really dumb!"
Taken from the album "Wake Up!". The singer was born in 1969! I thought he was much younger..more fool me eh.
2. And this lyric is from which song? "Keep our teeth, Nice and clean"

Answer: Supergrass- "Alright"

"We are young, We run free, Keep our teeth, Nice and clean!"
This was released in Britain, Japan, France, Holland, and Australia. It was released with a "B" side song- "Time".
3. "You've made me acknowledge the devil in me"- What song from the 90s is this?

Answer: Edwyn Collins- "A Girl like You"

"You've made me acknowledge the devil in me, I hope to God I'm talkin' metaphorically"
As I remember, this song was ALWAYS on "Neighbours"- every episode for about a month! "A Girl Like You", from the album "Gorgeous George", went top 10 in six other countries before even being heard in America.
4. "Unaware but underlined, I figured out this story". Which 1990s boyband's song had these lyrics?

Answer: Take That- "Back for Good"

"Unaware but underlined I figured out this story, No no, it wasn't good, no no, But in a corner of my mind, I celebrated glory"
Their last song with Robbie Williams..it all deteriorated from then.
5. What song is this lyric from? "Drawn by the undertow, My life is out of control".

Answer: James- "Sit Down"

"Drawn by the undertow, My life is out of control, I believe this wave will bear my weight, So let it flow, Oh sit down, Sit down next to me!"
Ok.. this was initially released in 1989 bu was re-released in 1991 and then re-mixed and re-released in 1998. So it counts.
6. "The whole place is pickled, The people are pickles for sure". And who sings about them people?

Answer: The Beautiful South- "Rotterdam"

"The whole place is pickled, The people are pickles for sure, And no-one knows if they've done more here, Than they ever would do in a jar, This could be Rotterdam or anywhere, Liverpool or Rome"
Released in 1996, this is from the album "Blue is the COlour"..It's a good album..a Darn good album.
7. This is from the Blur song "Song 2" -"All of the time, But I'm never sure why I need you, Pleased to meet you!"

Answer: True

Yup it's true! Last two lines of the chorus. A heavier song from Blur.
8. "We're the litter on the breeze". Who sings this?

Answer: Suede- "Trash"

"But we're trash, you and me, We're the litter on the breeze, We're the lovers on the streets"
Taken from the album "Coming Up", which was released in Austrlia, the UK, and Japan.
9. What song is this? "So what now? It's plain to see we're over"

Answer: Deep Blue Something- "Breakfast at Tiffany's"

"So what now? It's plain to see we're over, And I hate when things are over, When so much is left undone"
The video for this was filmed outside Tiffany's store in New York. It's a beast of a song. Barenaked Ladies have done a cover of it and it's very different.
10. "You float like a feather, In a beautiful world". What song is it?

Answer: Radiohead- "Creep"

"You float like a feather, In a beautiful world, And I wish I was special, You're so VERY* special, But I'm a creep, I'm a weirdo."
*Clean version! Released on the 21st of September 1992.
11. "He's got morning glory, life's a different story". Which British band sang this song?

Answer: Blur- "Country House"

"He's got morning glory, life's a different story, Everything going jackanory, in touch with his own mortality"
In a battle to number one with Oasis, Blur WON! There were some rivalry and nasty comments between the two bands.. Good times, good times!
12. What song is this? "Try to make ends meet, You're a slave to money then you die".

Answer: The Verve- "Bittersweet Symphony"

"'Cause it's a bittersweet symphony, this life, Try to make ends meet, You're a slave to money then you die, I'll take you down the only road I've ever been down"
From the album "Urban Hymns". They split up not long after this was released..well a few years..and the singer, Richard Ashcroft, went and pursued a solo career.
13. "But you are in my head, Swimming forever in my head". Which group of relatives sang this?

Answer: The Corrs- "Radio"

"But you are in my head, Swimming for ever in my head, Tangled in my dreams, Swimming forever"
The Corrs are three sisters and one brother. One TV presenter asked them (all seriously) how they met! Someone should really do their research.
14. "I don't know why but I had to start it somewhere". Whose song is it?

Answer: Pulp- "Common People"

"I took her to a supermarket, I don't know why but I had to start it somewhere, so it started there. I said pretend you've got no money, she just laughed and said oh you're so funny. I said yeah? Well I can't see anyone else smiling in here!"

Good old Jarvis Cocker. He went on "Stars In Their Eyes" as Rolf Harris. He didn't win. It was fairly amusing none the less.
15. Aaaah... the final question!! What song is this from? "Easy V doesn't come for free, She's a real lady!"

Answer: Spice Girls- "Wannabe"

"Easy V doesn't come for free, she's a real lady, And as for me, ha you'll see, Slam your body down and wind it all around, Slam your body down and wind it all around!"
