Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The song "Pinball Wizard" does not refer to the name of the title character of the album during the song. However, the "Pinball Wizard" is in fact this guy whose name is the title of the album. Who is it?

Answer: Tommy

"Tommy" is an album (later made into a musical) about a boy Tommy who is deaf, dumb, and blind, yet manages to "play a mean pinball". Pinball eventually helps to bring him into the real world. Kevin is the name of his sadistic cousin, and Ernie is the name of his sadistic uncle.
2. He's a legal alien! This song celebrates the little cultural differences that make countries unique. It may well be called "the exasperated tourist"!

Answer: Englishman in New York

This song mentions several oddities unique to Englishmen, such as the toast being done on one side, and the accent that gets funny looks. Tea being more popular for the Englishman is also mentioned. A very whimsical song.
3. "She keeps Moet et Chandon in her pretty cabinet." Throughout the song, this anonymous woman is compared to Marie Antoinette, and can remedy the relationship between Kruschev and Kennedy.

Answer: Killer Queen

"Killer Queen" is about an incredibly dynamic woman. "Somebody To Love" is another Queen song. "Killer Queen" refers to a "man from China", and compares the "Killer Queen" to a baroness in her speaking style.
4. This Hall and Oates classic refers to a woman who will "only come out at night" and who has a "beast in the heart".

Answer: Maneater

The "Maneater" is described as having been "tamed by the purr of the Jaguar", and as "the lean and hungry type", and of course, deadly. What a woman.
5. There's "one for you, nineteen for (him)". Be glad he doesn't take it all!

Answer: The Taxman

"The Taxman" is a rail against the high taxes in Britain for the very rich, as the Beatles certainly were when they wrote this song.
6. This Pat Benatar Top 40 hit is about a man whose "love is like a tidal wave", and has "set my soul on fire". Who is this cruel man?

Answer: Heartbreaker

The heartbreaker in the song "Hearbreaker" is referred to as "the right kind of sinner", and a "dream maker" and "love taker" throughout the course of this amazingly upbeat and catchy song.
7. This pervasively sad song by Duran Duran is a sorrowful picture of an oppressed group of people. They "always shine", and "never chose this way". Who are they?

Answer: Wild Boys

"Wild Boys" is a strongly worded song, depicting a "dust cloud on the rise" in the opening verse. It goes on to show a world of muder, blood, and an overpowering sense of anguish.
8. This Talking Heads song has a French interlude and shows a person whose "bed is on fire". It is Surreal and has a repetitive chorus that concludes with "Run Away". Who is the anonymous title character?

Answer: Psycho Killer

"Psycho Killer" is interesting in that the title of the song seems to have nothing in common with the rest of the song, except an aura of serious gloom.
9. This Beach Boys hit is a slow love song about a girl who is enamored of the beach. The song claims "make your dreams come true". Whose dreams, exactly?

Answer: Surfer Girl

"Surfer Girl" was a top ten hit, and is sporty yet still slow and meditative.
