The Beautiful South recorded "Rotterdam (Or Anywhere)" for their 1990 album "Blue is the Colour". "Sympathy for the Devil" is from The Rolling Stones album "Beggars Banquet"(1968). The song reached thirty-second position on Rolling Stone's "500 Greatest Songs of All Time" and is notable for having songstress Marianne Faithful on backing vocals. Guns'n Roses covered the song in 1994 for the soundtrack to the film "Interview With The Vampire".

It managed to reach fifty-fifth position on the US charts.

Answer: The Four Lads

THe Four Lads were a Canadian band. They wrote "Istanbul (Not Constantinople)" on the 500th anniversary of the fall of Constantinople to the Ottomans and the song reached tenth place on the US Billboard charts in 1953 and was the band's first gold record.

The band They Might Be Giants recorded a cover version of the song in 1990, but it only managed a sixty-first position on the UK charts.

Answer: Freddie Mercury

Freddie Mercury, best known as the frontman for the British band Queen, recorded a collaborative album with Spanish opera singer Montserrat Caballé in 1987 called "Barcelona". The song of the same name one of Mercury's greatest solo hits and reached eighth place on the UK Singles charts.

After his death in 1991, the song was featured at the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games and the song re-entered the charts, peaking at second place.
