Shirley Bassey from Tiger Bay in Cardiff, had her first number one hit on the UK chart with "As I Love You". It was number one for four weeks in 1959 but failed to chart in the US. Shirley Bassey DBE, (Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire) has been having hits on the UK chart for six decades and is an international star. She has only had five hits on the US pop chart, the highest placed US hit was "Goldfinger" in 1964 which reached number eight but only reached number 21 on the UK chart.

Tom Jones from Treforest Pontypridd, first entered the UK chart in 1965 with "It's Not Unusual". It spent one week at number one and reached number ten on the US pop chart the same year. The song which was written for Sandie Shaw and featured Jimmy Page on guitar re-entered the UK chart in 1987 and reached number 17. Maureen Evans from Cardiff, first entered the UK chart in 1960. She had her biggest hit with "Like I Do" which reached number three in 1962, it failed to chart in the US. Harry Seacombe from Swansea first entered the UK chart in 1955. His biggest hit was "This Is My Song" which reached number two in 1967 but failed to follow Petula Clark's version into the US pop chart. Harry Seacombe may be best known in the UK for playing Neddie Seagoon in the radio show "The Goon Show" but later starred in musicals. He played Mr. Pickwick in the musical based on Charles Dickens's "The Pickwick Papers". In 1965 he was nominated for a Tony for Best Actor in a Musical on Broadway, for his performance in "Pickwick". He later played Mr. Bumble in the musical "Oliver" by Lionel Bart and appeared in many UK TV shows.

The Drifters had a number 17 hit with "Dance With Me" on the UK chart in 1960. It reached number 15 on the US pop chart in 1959. The Diamonds had a number 18 hit on the US pop chart with "She Say" (Oom Dooby Doom) in 1959, it failed to chart in the UK. That was after once being top of the bill of a show The Beatles were on.

Sam Cooke's origional version of "Only Sixteen" reached number 23 on the UK chart in 1959, it reached number 28 on the US pop chart the same year. Al Saxon's version of "Only Sixteen" reached number 24 on the UK chart in 1959 but did not chart in the US. Roy Orbison had a UK number one for two weeks with "Only The Lonely" in 1960, it reached number two on the US pop chart the same year.

He later appeared with Roger Daltry in the movie "McVicar". The alternate titles are all Adam Faith Hits. "How About That!" was a number four hit on the UK chart in 1960. "Who Am I!" was a number was a five hit on the UK chart in 1961. "Don't You Know It" was a number 12 hit on the UK chart in 1961.
