Rick Nelson (he dropped the y from his name) was still having hits in 1963 and "Fools Rush In" was a number 12 hit in the US and UK. The Shadows along with being Cliff Richard's backing group, were and remain the UK's most successful instrumental group with five UK number one hits. "Foot Tapper" in 1963 being their fifth and final number one"
7. Yeh, who kept telling us how this girl was feeling with these words? "It's you she's thinkin' of And she told me what to say"

It was made popular in the UK by The Beatles on their "With The Beatles" album. The Rolling Stones had a UK number 12 hit in 1963 with the Lennon/McCartney song "I Wanna Be Your Man" The Fourmost another Liverpool group, had a UK number nine hit with yet another Lennon/McCartney song "Hello Little Girl"

Answer: Gerry and The Pacemakers

"You'll Never Walk Alone" was the song from the musical Carousel, sung by Gerry and The Pacemakers. This was their third consecutive and last UK number one. It reached number 48 in the US chart in 1965. The first act ever to have their first three singles reach number one in the UK.

10. Who wanted to grab a part of our anatomy (they certainly grabbed our attention) with these words? "Oh please say to me You'll let me be your man"

Answer: The Beatles

It's the fab four again, The Beatles with "I Want To Hold Your Hand". Their third UK number one and first US number one. What more can I add, Nothing would be the same again.

The Big Three from Liverpool, once ranked along side the Beatles among the local fans. They had two minor UK hits in 1963 "Some Other Guy" at number 37 is my favourite version of this song. Having the same manager as The Beatles (for a while anyway) they should have been contenders but it was not to be. The Undertakers another Liverpool group also only had a ninor UK hit in 1964 "Just A Little Bit". Kingsize Taylor and The Dominoes were the best Rock'n'Roll group on Merseyside from the late 50's. Ringo Starr may well have joined them if he had not been invited to join The Beatles. Like some other great Merseyside groups they never got on the Beatles bandwagon and never had any chart hits.
