This record was Mungo Jerry's second and last UK number one hit. Group leader singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Ray Dorset wrote and sang "Feels Like I'm In Love" on a solo album. Elvis Presley was about to record the song but died before doing so. It became a UK number one in 1980 when singer Kelly Marie record it. This enabled Ray Dorset to hit the UK number one spot as a singer and a songwriter.

T.Rex was formed in 1967 by Marc Bolan as Tyrannosaurus Rex. The group which at first had four members split up. It was then a duo with Bolan and Steve Took, then that duo split and Mickey Finn joined Marc Bolan. After the first two hits "Ride A White Swan" and "Hot Love" they added Bill Legend and Steve Currie to the group to tour.

Middle Of The Road were a Scottish group that based themselves and recorded in Italy after having no success on the UK chart in the '60s. "Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep" is supposed to have sold in excess of 10,000,000 copies world wide. It was number one in Switzerland and Norway.

They had six number one hits on the UK chart, three of which entered the chart at number one. They were the first act to achieve this feat. Since Noddy Holder left Slade he has become and actor, DJ and TV personality.

Written by Benny Hill (born Alfred Hawthorn Hill) in 1955, inspired by his experience as a milkman in pre WWII Hampshire UK. It was re-released the year Benny died and reached number 29 on the UK chart in 1992. The 1966 US hit "The Ballad Of Irving" by Frank Gallop has the same melody. The Benny Hill Show which had run in one form or another from 1951 was cancelled by John Howard Davies (he played Oliver Twist in the 1948 movie "Oliver Twist") who was then the head of light entertainment at Thames TV.
