Answer: Down the Line

The name Down the Line came from The Hollies version of Roy Orbison's "Go Go Go (Down the Line)". The band was formed in 1965 and the original line up consisted of Beeb Birtles, Daryl Cotton, John D'Arcy and Teddy Higgins. The band played covers of the British mod singers, mainly playing in small pubs and bars.

Down the Line was formed in Adelaide in 1965, renamed Zoot in 1967 and relocated to Melbourne in 1968. Two of the original band, John D'Arcy and Teddy Higgins, left the band and returned to Adelaide.

Answer: Brewer and Springfield

Rick Brewer became the new drummer for the band, and Rick Springfield was lead guitar and backing vocals as well as writing for the band. This then became the final line up of Birtles, Brewer, Cotton and Springfield until they disbanded in 1971.

Darryl Cotton had a career in television and the music scene. Darryl also worked on stage, television and hosted a Saturday morning kids program "The Early Bird Show" for five years.
