1. What year did I start my flight over the Atlantic?

Answer: 1927

I started on the 20th of May 1927. I didn't get any sleep that night.
2. What was the name of my wonderful, reliable plane?

Answer: Spirit of St. Louis

I had some great people helping me from St Louis so I decided to name my plane in their honour.
3. What was the name of the terrific company that manufactured my plane?

Answer: Ryan

The company was called the Ryan Aeronautical Company. I had to trust these guys otherwise I would be in the drink.
4. How much money did I get for flying over the Atlantic?

Answer: $25 000

It was offered by Raymond Orteig, a New Yorker. Thank you Raymond Orteig!
5. What field in the United States did I take off from?

Answer: Roosevelt Field

I was about to go to Curtiss Field, but Roosevelt Field had a longer runway.
6. How long was the runway that I took off from?

Answer: 1 Mile

I needed all of that mile, because I nearly ran into the power line at the end.
7. What time did I take off?

Answer: 8 o'clock

I wasn't sure whether to go then or the next day, because the weather was bad.

(actual take-off time was 7:52 am)
8. How far did I fly?

Answer: 3600 Miles

I flew from Roosevelt Field, over Newfoundland, to Ireland and over the English Channel to Paris. Several times I nearly fell asleep.
9. How long did I take?

Answer: 33 Hours

This was quicker than I expected. But it was still a long time sitting in that tiny cockpit.
10. Where did I land?

Answer: Le Bourget Airodrome

This is near Paris. Boy was I relieved when I got there, I was so tired.
