2. This Richard was King of England between 1189 and 1199 and was known as "Richard the Lion-Hearted".

Answer: Richard I

He was thusly dubbed because of his bravery in battle. But Richard I was a less-than-devoted king, spending only ten months of his reign in England. Richard's brother, John (the infamous Prince John that plagued Robin Hood) assumed the throne in 1199 when Richard died in France. John made up for everything Richard lacked in ambition, and then some! He was greedy, but a poor administrator and a poor warrior and in 1204 lost all of his land north of Loire to Philip of France. Eleven years later, the rebellious great barons forced John to sign the famous Magna Carta, a document that bound the kings to observe common law and tradition. Several clauses in the Magna Carta were later interpreted in a way that led to a definition of democratic freedom and the rights of individuals under the law.
3. Inigo de Onez y Loyola, a.k.a. Saint Ignatius, was born in Spain in 1491 and founded which religious order?

Answer: Jesuit

Saint Ignatius was born in the Basque province of Guipuzcoa in northern Spain.
4. Armand-Jean Du Plessis is more famously known as _________ Richelieu. What religious position did he hold?

Answer: Cardinal

Cardinal Richelieu had almost total control of France during Louis XIII's rule. Cardinal Richelieu was later cast as the villain in Alexandre Dumas' "The Three Musketeers".
5. What is the more commonly known alias of the French author and philosopher, born Francois Marie Arouet, who was forced in his lifetime twice to flee from Paris, only to return at age 83 to a hero's welcome?
